BARTLETT, TN (WMC-TV) - Bartlett Police have charged Thomas Pate with second degree murder in the death of his wife, Micah Denise Pate.
The 26-year-old nurse's body was discovered Friday night near the banks of the Loosahatchie River in Brunswick, about five miles from the couple's home.
Thomas Pate reported his wife missing Thursday night, saying she failed to return home after going for a run.
Investigators didn't originally suspect foul play, but they did tape off Pate's house on Foxfield Trail Friday afternoon.
Pate's co-workers from the Memphis OBGYN spent Friday passing out flyers with Pate's photo and other information in hopes of locating their friend and colleague.
Thomas Pate is being held in Bartlett City Jail. No bond has been set.

If he really did, which is alleged at this point for I don't know, it is really a sad story. I guess you never really know what a person is like behind close doors, if it is found true that he killed his wife.
very true....it is so scary nowdays...you think you know someone and you really don't. I guess the stress of the economy and such helps make crazy people crazier and makes them go over the edge. It's just so weird that husbands and wives kill each other instead of just leaving each other....it's becoming more and more common. ok, instead of a divorce I'm just going to kill.

He looks like the kind of punk that would do something like this. Wont be long till someone compliments his mouth...
What I don't get is why he wasn't Suspect #1 from the get go? The Bartlett PD basically wasted people's time and taxpayer's money. Who the hell goes out for a run in what she was described as wearing when she was last seen?

Not to blame this victim because each situation is different, but many times they DO know how they are before marrying them. Some think that the person will change after they get married, others wouldn't have them any other way. I had a friend once that had multiple divorces from abusive spouses but was still always attracted to the "bad boys." She said nice guys were boring.
