The pay in some foreign leagues is excellent, especially the leagues in Italy, Spain, and possibly Greece. In the past couple of years some average NBA players have left to go overseas for more money. I believe Jenirro Pargo is one. I believe Carlos Arroya (FIU) left the NBA to play in Israel. Now what some of our ex-players make in places like Iceland, Mexico, etc. I don't have a clue.

At one time before the big global recession, some Euroleague teams were talking about going after some of the top NBA players. The declining dollar help some of the euro teams be more competitive with pay. Plus the money is tax free, I think they get room and board, vehicle, health insurance, and get to travel throughout Europe.

What amazes me is the variety of countries where our alums play. I mean, when you get to Luxemburg, Finland and Lebanon, you are getting pretty specific.

I sent a not to the Sports Information office asking if they could give a spot on the official site about how some of our alums are doing. We know where they play, but not how well they are playing.
