I am very interested in learning how the city has evolved...does anyone know a place that would have maps of the city from over the years?

I would love to see, for example, how far to the East our school was compared to the bulk of the city in 1912...stuff like that.

If you go to city hall, there is a map with historic annexations. You can see the city boundary from original until somewhat recently with lines for each annexation and corresponding year. You may have to go to the mapping department on the 5th floor or the planning department on the 4th floor, but what you are looking for does exist.

Looking at one of those annexation maps is damn depressing. Seeing how the dates match the time when a neighborhood started to slide is sad. Many houses in those areas were not built to hold up anyway but it is obvious the slide started on the day the annexation went into effect.
