Any other than Tennessee and LSU? Lunardi still has SC in the tournament despite an RPI of 58. Florida is likely on the bubble with an RPI of 52. Auburn has come on strong but only had an RPI of 57 before losing today. I think most agree MState has to win the tourney tomorrow, but some SEC folks are still pushing them despite an RPI of 74. I figure that they'll get a 3rd team in regardless. If Miss State wins tomorrow that may be it. If they lose they'll get a 3rd, although a 4th wouldn't shock me.
What does shock me is that most experts have Utah State out if they lose tonight. They have an RPI of 25, 28 DI wins, and win over #12 RPI Utah. They are playing the tournament final on Nevada's home court tonight. I can't believe they'd keep them out if they lose what is actually a road game against a very good Nevada team with 20 wins.
Miss St wins tomorrow: 3
Tennessee wins: 2

Scotto, I think your analysis is correct.

After watching what seems like 1,000 hours of hoops over the past week, it appears to me that there a lot more deserving teams other than LSU and Tennessee.

My point exactly. There are always deserving teams who get left out.
(Try UALR). Not better teams. More deserving teams. I still say a team like UALR who wins 23 games against D1 competition and is a Division and probably a co champion, deserves to get in over a BCS team who finishes fourth or fifth in their league. They might be better, but they're not as deserving. But obviously I live in a dream world!

Not with a SOS above 200. That's the indicator that we played weak teams.

SOS overrated. Your conference schedule comprises the highest percentage of your schedule. Mid Majors can't control that, therefore with the current formula, it's nearly impossible to beat the system. Still say teams should be rewarded for excellence. If they're D1 teams, and play other D1 teams, then it should count for something. If they want to change the system and divide things up among BCS D1 teams, and other D1 conferences, then let them come up with some fair formula.
I don't like fourth and fifth place teams from BCS conferences being allowed in the NCAA tournament at the expense of good mid major teams. Neither has a chance in Hell of winning the tournament anyway, so what difference does it make who they select.

Don't disagree with your premise. But there have been a number of BCS schools who have won the title after finishing 4th or 5th in their league. NCState, Arizona, and Villanova come quickly to mind.

I hate it when people confuse me with the facts.
