What year is the 'before' pic from? It doesnt look that old judging by the cars. 60's maybe?? What a dump. It really is an amazing comparison.

I bought my first "good" guitar from that Nathan's pawn up at the corner of 2nd and Beale back in 1973. An old Harmony Soverign, I still have it.

I remember Beale in the 40's and 50's when it was going full bore. The white kids went to buy Levi jeans from Lansky Bros. (Elvis wasn't the only one who shopped there.) They had a tailor upstairs who did alterations, and would "peg" (taper the legs)your jeans, or tighten the sleeves of your shirts, no charge.
