Is DAVID lipscombs arena really as dark as it appears on tv? Tomorrow will be my first appearance in that "holy place" ha ha
in a word, YES. for being a nice modest sized arena with a couple of nice amenities, they really missed on the lighting. oh well - will be the same for both teams.

Yes! it's dreadful. They cross light so the light shines in your eyes and it creates lots of shadows and is uneven around the baskets. Seems intentional to me. They're probably just cheap though. TV acutally improves the brightness.
It's like going to the Staples Center. Maybe they keep it low to not show off famous people that come to their games. Specifically, when Vince Gill came to watch the Belmont/Lipscomb game.
Riiiiiiiiight.
So, what'd you think of the place?
I've got a question, how much $$$ did Belmont pay Doug Sirmons last year?

I don't like it at all. My problem with it is pretty much the same problems I have with Belmont. There is no seperation between the arena and the hallways really. The concessions are a joke. I don't like that you see the court from outside of the arena. It is far to open. It's dark inside....but my biggest complaint with it is that it is filled with people from DAVID lipscomb.

I am curious as to why separation between the arena and the hallways matters. I agree the concessions aren't great. What is far to open? (especially compared to the minidome) The Curb isn't dark on the floor or around the floor, as you get to the top of the seating area there is less light.

I think david lip has tried to brighten things with some reflected lighting which I don't remember from before. They keep turning it off and on during time outs and play. I think it adds little bit light but it's still not good.

The word inglorious comes to mind...if you still require more detail just let me know
if the lighting was better - would be a pretty darn good arena. by the way, backstage areas are very good.
