Oh, yeah? Where's YOUR live mascot? Y'all need to get a komoto dragon. That would be totally cool.

Komodo dragons are a nightmare.
The Birmingham Zoo has one. Remember, their saliva is toxic.

If UAB had a Komodo dragon as a mascot, within just a few minutes some dumb Bammer would say "Oh look at the big lizard" as he or she attempted to pet it on the head or otherwise f*ck with it. You know how the drunken Bear's faithful are when they see something new. It would then bite them on the hand, setting up one hell of an infection. It's best to avoid that liability.

The Bamer might give the Dragon an infection

Notre Dame seems to do okay with a Leprachaun.

"Eh heh heh. Yeah."
Are you Beavis or Butthead?

To me, the Komodo Dragon is the scariest animal at the Memphis Zoo. Those dead eyes really give me the creeps. I also remember going to the Zoo when my son was about 2 and the dragon coming up the glass, just staring at my son wistfully through the glass. I knew what the Komodo was thinking and I didn't like it.

We have one here at the Birmingham zoo. Although I have never seen ours up close to the glass, it gives me the creeps too.
I also think it would be a very bad idea to have one at a UAB game. That would be an "accident" waiting to happen.

You're mocking me, aren't you?
No, not mocking. Just being whimsical and wishing for that pot o' gold at the end of the rainbow.

I think he was referencing the mascot suit...not the fact you are the Blazers.
Although, Tulsa will get my vote of the dumbest and lamest mascot suit I've ever seen in my life...

I saw their mascot Friday in Memphis. I'd also say that a mascot with chicken legs, long tube socks, a b-ball uni, "muscular" spandex arms, and what looks like a very large Wheatie for a head doesn't really appeal to the rest of basketball fandom.

I'm surprised that Delaware isn't teased more about their mascot..."Blue Hens?"
By the way, I like the Dragon, it's far better than what UAB had at first start: "Beauregard T. Rooster?"
Don't make me laugh!!!

You're fairly new to the board, and it's nice you are studying past posts on the smack board. However, there's one thing you should know to be a surviving member of Blazertalk.
DON'T DISS BEAUREGARD. We have posters here that hold him near and dear to their hearts.
