The 4th Annual Kirk Tuck Memorial Golf Tournament is coming up. This year's date is Saturday, May 2, 2009. As with the others, this year's tournament will be held at Highland Park Golf Club in Birmingham.
All the proceeds from the tournament go to fund the Kirk Tuck Athletic Award. The award was recently granted full endowment by the UAB Board. We hope to grow this annual award into a fully funded sholarship, given to a deserving walk-on each year.
We hope you can join us for a Saturday of fun, food, golf, prizes and fellowship to help with this worthy cause. Hole Sponsorships and donations are gladly accepted if you can't join us at Highland on May 2.
Regards,
Dan R. Dunn (Melissa Tuck's dad)

Schard,
Thanks for the reply. We look forward to you being there. Bring lots of folks with you as well! Let me know if you need anything.
D. Dunn
If I am able to get loose, I will be there, but I will probably be a late entry. Keep us posted on spots available when it gets closer to cut off.
I am up to play again this year. Whoever needs me, I am in.
Thanks to all who have responded so far. We hope to sell out this year (30 or so teams), so register early. Brian Mackin and Shannon Ealy have pledged increased support for the tournament with advertising within the UAB community. Now that this is an endowed award, we hope to grow it rapidly to a full scholly. As always, spread the word, and let me know if you have any questions or need further information.

Looking forward to it again.
I'm in. I bet we can talk Frenchy into playing as well......

I guess we need to start talking about dividing into two teams.
We may have enough for two BlazerTalk teams this year.
We need to look at the handicapps and divide the teams that way. We don't need four 30s on the same team.
We also need to chip in and sponsor a hole.
I am playing about a 12-13 right now.
I was playing bogey golf, but haven't touched a club since October.
I havent touched a club since the last Tuck/Calloway dual tourneys in 2008.
I'm a 29... I'll be happy if I get back to shooting in the double digits in the next couple months.
I am a 30. Will try to get than down a few notches.
I will be playing at Willis Creek in Attalla the next two Sunday mornings if anyone wants to tag along.
The I will hit Boaz CC.
Good luck with the Tournament.
Ozzie
I'm sorry I won't be in town that weekend. Sounds like fun for a great cause.
I just wanted everyone to know, if you followed another thread from after the Memphis game, in which there was some grousing about the crowd behavior during the Kirk Tuck Athletic Award presentation; there were some Memphis fans who pledged their support of this year's golf tournament to compensate for the perceived dissing by the crowd (not necessary in my opinion). Well they followed up on that promise. Today I got a check in the mail from Mike Gay with MemphisTigers.org, for a hole sponsorship ($100), as well as a separate $100 donation.
I'll be sending him a personal note of thanks for their generous support. Time for the UAB fans to step up as well. We need more golf teams (only one team signed up so far), individual golfers, etc. Please spread the word to help us keep this endowed award growing. And thanks to the Memphis fans who contributed to the MemphisTigers.org donation.
Go Blazers !

BlazerTalk will be sponsoring a hole.
I will have a team representing the UAB department of anesthesiology

Ok who wants to play in my group.
looks like Frenchy will have one and I will too.

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to give everyone a reminder. The date is rapidly approaching for the 4th Annual Kirk Tuck Memorial Golf Tournament at Highland Park Golf Club in Birmingham on May 2, 2009. While the suggested deadline of April 20 for entry was indicated, we need more players/teams to send in their registration. The absolute deadline for confirming entry is Wednesday, April 29. I have to give the course a final count for food at that time.
Get the word out and help make this year's event a tremendous success.
Thanks for your support.

OK. I sent in my Check, etc last week
Just a warning: Attalla and I played last weekend and all I'm going to say is that we are a dangerous combination on the golf course.
I'm looking forward to Saturday.

dangerous is defiantly a word I would use describe out teamwork out there!
BTW I played Sunday as well and I have straightened out the driver. Don't know how the damn thing got crooked....
Bring your A game. We will need it!
How was the tournament, BlazerTalkers?
I can't speak for everyone, but I had a great time. Even though I had to leave with 2 holes remaining.
We did get rained on which held us up for about 15-20 minutes, but had a great time.
I had a great time as well... KT, you'll never believe me, but we had an eagle on the hole you left us on!
I'll post pictures when I get a chance. Paul, you need to post yours as well and post the MemphisTigers.org sign over on their board.
I will, That Eagle was SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
Saweeeet, in deed!!! I left my golf shoes on the front porch to dry out, and forgot to bring them in Sat night.. Now they got pelted by hail during the major storm that hit Pell City yesterday afternoon. I hope they have a few more drives, chilly dips, and fantastic putts left in em for the Callaway tournament this Thurdsay
wow, that's great.
I just got back from a charity tournament @ Shoal Creek. Played alot better than I did on Saturday. We got 2nd place and I now have more Nike stuff than I know what to do with.
You need to post the pics Attalla.
