Maybe you guys might need to really get your own board or your growth in athletics will never happen. Troy has their own board and and also the state of Alabama as a whole can not touch us considering only 23% of our funding comes from them. We recieve the least amount of funding from them because we get so much federal help and private funding. Troy educates over 24,000 students world wide, yea make fun of us because we only have 6,000 on our main campus, but we don't have any funding trouble and average better attendance at our games. I know you guys feel you are better than us, but maybe you should come down to reality and do some things we do. Look at our stadium during a game it is red, black, and white we have great school pride. Don't get me wrong I want UAB to grow because you guys are a great rival I'm just hoping we will get in Conference USA so the game can be the last game of the year, because we don't care about Middle Tenn. at all our biggest rival has been Marshall thus far. Hope everything works out for you guys because it kills me to say it, but for us to grow more we need a rival and your it so we need you to grow and hell we want you to win and meet you in the New Orleans Bowl. Good Luck 04-cheers
FYI, You should edit your comments before you get blown out of the water.

Obviously there are some very material things you don't know about UAB.

So you have 18,000 students who get their degrees online, come on man.

Thanks for the compliment, but don't come over hear trying to toot your own horn.
Actually, we don't need to break away, we need to pressure the area political representatives and current boad members to appoint UAB alumni, and others more concerned with UAB than UAT. So far, we have had 2 UAB reps, one who does nothing (the first appointed) and one who is now unindictment and was forced to resign. Considering we've only been around since 1969, that still not too bad, but we have to keep up the pressure every time a slot comes open to have a UAB grad appointed, at least until the boards is balanced out. Then we can concentrate on taking over.

EARLY DEATHS TO THE GOOD OLE BOYS!
LONG REIGN UAB! 03-wink
Please don't come to this board and expect to agree with you when you don't know what are you taking about.
First you don't have a better attendance.

Birmingham is a city ..Troy is a gas station stop .UAB bring billions of $$$ every year in this state . How much money Troy bring to the state. Half of millions? Do you have your own hospital or it is a vaccination clinic.
Please stay at Troy and enjoy your win against New Mexico State,,,sorry Mizzou
#1 dumba$$ we have a campus in Dothan Phenix City, Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ , Ft. Carson, CO, Ft. Lewis, WA, Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Ft. Walton Beach, Holloman AFB, NM, Keesler AFB, MS, MacDill AFB, Tampa, Malmstrom AFB, MT, New Orleans, LA, Pensacola Naval Air Station, Orlando, Ft. Benning, GA, Albany, GA, Augusta, GA, Atlanta, GA, Brunswick, GA, Ft. Bragg, NC, Ecuador, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam .

Where do you exsit oh yea under Alabama in a category like this one. As far as Medical School goes my granddad was on their board for a long time and I quote almost every student in the Medical school came from other university and it is the University of Alabama's Medical School oh yea you belong to the University of Alabama like our campusses belong to us. Ha you guys are horrible try and be nice and you blow up, these where just thoughts nowing you can not stand Troys program is better than yours. Lets get to the good stuff you suck and your athletics won't grow and more than likely will be terminated do to Alabama's funding. Your students don't even care about your sports as well, every girl I talked to up there lives at home and could care less about UAB football. Man something else the only reason your enrollment is so high you are in the biggest city in Birmingham and have commuters who just go to school and don't care about Athletics. Oh yea and our campusses in Alabama are really nice with huge buildings as for the rest of our campusses.
Please the season is not over and last year our attendance was better and oh yea this year you do have us beat, but not by much. We will see at the end of the year though. Oh yea hope your stadium doesn't fall in on you and as for our stadium being a glorified high school stadium please, you will never have the facilities we have. (No funding remember you are another Alabama Campus)
Troypikapp,
I'm going to pull your pin if you continue to talk like an idiot.

We are not a branch of UAT. If we were we would not have an athletics program and the BOT would be fully supportive of UAB. In essence, we are a separate university with much different goals and morals. The ONLY reasons why they won't let us branch off is because they will lose a lot of revenue, lose control over our athletics program, and they won't have anybody to pick on when they screw up.

Now go back to Troy and count the number of dollar stores you guys have.
I have about 25 fraternity brothers who either attended or are attending Medical, Optometry, or Dental School. "Granddad" was probably on the board before UAB was a University you fr*ggen moron. How many NCAA tournaments has Troy State been to?? How long have you guys been a university?? How much federal funding does Troy State receive every year? How many Rhodes Scholars has Troy State?

Come on kid don't you have some studying to do or something?
Well, let's just send this idiot to the smack board... :chair:

Ok, done, now let him have it..... 03-nutkick
Tell you what see you next year when you come to Troy and play in a real stadium that is full and loud. Oh yea and we once again hand your A$$ to you on a silver platter once again. 3-1 about to be 4-1!!!!!!!!!!
1993 TROY 37 UAB 3
1995 Troy 60 UAB 7
I'll give you loud but full? Come on man, you guys didn't even sell out the Mizzou game.

Hell, we had 27,000 for the Memphis game and that wasn't a nationally televised game (well, ESPN+) and it was on a Saturday.

Seriously, stop acting like an idiot. I will report you to nationals for hazing me with your stupidity.

**here is where you make excuses for your attendance by saying we gave out a bunch of free tickets. The point is that people were there. They paid for parking and concessions and they saw a damn good game (rated in Top10 games of that weekend by CFN)
The game is at the Crampton Bowl in Montgomery. Blazers by 20 over TS?

Just look at this
UAB attendance is better 2004- 2003-2002

Like most of the people with no education, you can not deal with it when people disagree with you . :D 04-cheers
Keep saying that but it want be go to http://www.troystate.com and look at schedules and see for yourself.
Damnit Troypikapp....I've given you two chances and you did not heed my warnings. I will be contacting Mark Timmes today to inform him that I am pulling your pin.

You are the black hole for intelligence and will ruin this board by sucking everyone into that bottomless pit. Now shouldn't you switch over to another internet page so you can log into class?
Your site is wrong,(which is not suprising), FSU had us playing in Birminham so mistakes do happen. The game is in Montgomery I assure you and I received that first hand from our AD & SID. Let me put it this way. We will be in Montgomery and if you don't show up it's a forefit....

We are not coming to sh*tty troy state next year, sorry. You are an absolute idiot, grandad should have slapped you around a little bit more.

Troy, AL "Most trailer parks per capita in the world"
Who is this person?

And all the Pi Kapp's I know don't spell the abbreviated version as Pi Kap.

This person is a fraud. I suspect it's a UAB fan trying to piss me off.
troypikap,
thank you for the class you have shown in your post. I like the UAB vs Troy rivalry and i want it to prosper. We would like nothing more than to have our own board but this is the problem, control. The board we have to share with the other two campuses will not relinquish this power, and we are wrapped in a layer of good ol' boy networking that intelligence can't win against in a short time. But don't think the effort isn't being applied. Good luck the rest of your season....with see you next year unless another big money game comes calling. 04-cheers
I suspect a rat maybe????? What do you think sarabelle? :D

I just talked to Helen Ricks from Troy Athletics Dept and according to her the game is at Troy. She is the secretary to Johnny Williams, AD for Troy. But to be honest, she said if the game was to be played at would be at Troy so she didn't know whether or not the game was going to be played.

So who's right and who's wrong who knows.

Go Blazers!
