Must not be talking about me. I'm a Memphis grad, but I care that they suck. I want them to win, I like OJ, Rudy, Marc Gasol etc...It's ridiculous for anyone in the city of Memphis to root against the only professional team we will probably ever have. It's a shame really.
It's a shame that local owners wanted to buy the team but Heisley refuses to budge from his overinflated price so he can make a killing off one of the worst teams in the NBA.

i support the grizz and usually always defend them but im starting to lose my patience and the hiring of hollins didnt help

Heisley doesn't necessarily have to give on his price. All he has to do is hold the Grizzlies until the 100 million 'penalty' a buyer would have to pay to move the team is reduced enough to make the purchase make sense. I think the 100 million begins 'stepping down' after the 10th year here.

Hey I love my hometown just as much as the next guy. I just don't develop a terminal case of Clinchus Sphinctoralis every time someone offers a contrary opinion regarding the Grizzlies. Or, for that matter, every time someone doesn't extend themselves and make the ridiculous equation of the Grizzlies with the entire city of Memphis and all of West Tennessee.

Seriously, how was that a good post? He's basically saying he cheers against the Grizzlies because they suck. Really honorable. Regardless of what you think about Heisley, management, etc., you should want the Grizzlies to succeed if you care about the city of Memphis. Dak is right, as soon as the Grizzlies start winning in a couple of years all of this hate will stop and the Grizzlies will have a bunch of new fans who used to rip on them (even if Heisley is still the owner).
I don't care if you can never love a team as much as the Tigers (I can't), actively rooting against a hometown team because they suck is despicable.

We all have the love for the Tigers in common. Kinda like a family.
So with that...for those same Tiger fans to "hate" the Grizzlies...kinda stings a bit more than a Vol fan hat'n on the Grizz.

I don't have a problem with the Grizzlies being in Memphis.
They seem to value their relationship with the Tigers.

Hey guys, I live here in Nashville and get to watch the grizz on sports south. They said that they were now airing the games in HD, but its not in HD. I have HD and looked for a sport south HD channel but can't find one. Is anyone else having this problem?

I have heard numerous times on radio or camera interview Calipari being supportive of the Grizzlies. He knows their value to this city and to his program. Those who root against the Grizzlies are rooting against Memphis, and on a smaller scale, Tiger basketball. Tiger basketball's recent success has been achieved mostly through Calipari's efforts, but partially through the impact of a local NBA team and its NBA facility. Calipari acknowledges such--why don't many Tiger fans?
