Actually, I have several friends that post here. The truth hurts sometimes. It'd be great if he could contribute at this level but we need a better caliber player.
Bigs were MIA today.

The truth is, Pierre is a member of the Tigers. So you only give a damn about the ones who contribute. I am disappointed that Pierre has not regained his High School playing form, but how about trying to encourage him to get better.
I don't consider critiquing players as a miserable. I do th ink Pierre Niles has not lived up to his potential. Much like Kareem Cooper.

Or Bailey; is he still out on injury?03-lmfao
There were too many rebounds that he just watched. He didn't box out. Couldn't have played a worse game. When he came in for Tag after Tag fouled out I just knew we lost the game. Pearl should have gone to Chism all game, but the game so close and Tag guarding Chism, I'd have gone at him so hard. He played awful today.

Whatever. Doz is very able to do many things. He may not be the strongest guy in the world, but he is a baller. He had 9 boards today.
This crap need to go to the miserables board.

The really sad thing is that Kareem made more of a positive impact in his short time here than Pierre has in three years.

Preach it, brother.

i was mostly referring to his mental weakness. i agree that all of our bigs have great potential, but they make the same stupid mistakes over and over. i can't tell you how many times dozier and taggart have tried to make spin moves in traffic only to turn the ball over. if i were them, i'd get tired of embarrasing myself. they need to stick to what they can do, and stop trying to "improve" their games.

miserables are out tonight
Cal told Niles if he lost all that weight he could add game. Niles thought he said name.
Niles needs strong hands! He gets hacked underneath the basket with no foul called and can't finish. Rebounds don't mean anything if you can't keep the ball in your hands!

This post is...
Ive got to agree with the miserables on this one. Pierre is not of much value to the team. He should apologize to all the fans that cheer him everytime he gets a loose ball or blows his nose. How in the world do you stay show heavy playing basketball and running up and down the court all day?

They sure were, if not for Dozier and Taggat getting those huge rebounds near the end, we lose.

but thanks for playing
I can't even believe that this thread is here. Dozier had 6 rebounds in the 2nd half; many of them monsters in traffic. He also had 2 blocked shots in the 2nd half AND played perfect defense on Smith on the last sequence. Dozier can be weak but he came up big time in the 2nd half.

Chism scored all of his points on Taggart with the exception of a play early in the 2nd half where he scored on Dozier. Chism didn't score a point in the final 2:34 after Taggart fouled out. Tyler Smith did not score in the final 10:40 of the game.

In the game's last sequence, Niles and Dozier completely took Chism out of the equation and "gave up" a twisting 12 footer to Smith. Chism was also sealed off of the glass.

Even with Chism on his hot streak, UT's bigs were 11-30 for the game. Tyler Smith was 5-18. Give some credit where credit is due.

PHN only played 8 minutes- and Chism was the only player to score(11 pts) for utk the final 10 minutes of the game. PHN and Doz did do a good job on blocking out Chism on that last play that's the reason Smith had to put up a bad shot.. the play was designed to go inside to Chism-

the play by play it shows that Tag picked up 3 fouls in 2 minutes.. from 4:30 - 2:30 watching real time they didn't seem that close together..

I'm only miserable because our friends TG4, btiger and FUT can't be here to enjoy the big win over utk. I really mis those guys.

What is the story with those guys, anyway? The few times I go over to that board, they trash people that are on this board. Posters on this board trash posters on this board.

Very confusing.
They lost the "Loser leave town" match and were forever banished to the Outlaw Board.
The funny thing is, this thread trashing an existing player (who has by all accounts been a model teammate) was started by the same person that got his feelings hurt when folks were trashing Sean Banks.

Funny how the world circles sometimes.

I saw a lot of myself in Banks. Except I'm not black, or from Jersey, or tall, or good at basketball, or burned a girl with a cigarette.

I am, however, fat like Niles with bad hands and can't play defense.

Seriously, we all have our favorites. I was rooting for Banks to overcome his demons. Others pull for Niles.

Maybe you guessed that I'm a nonconformist?
I'm not going to discuss whether or not I believe Pierre Niles to be worth his scholarship or not.

Let me give you an example about players and coaches.

I'm on an academic scholarship from the University and TSAC. If I don't meet certain benchmarks I lose the money. The same should be true in a student on a athletic scholarship. If he or she doesn't meet certain benchmarks they don't deserve to keep spending other folks money.

Now, with coaches my dad had a pretty good explanation of Phillip Fulmer's termination. He's a state employee. He works for the people of the State of Tennessee. If he doesn't manage to do a competent job meeting the needs of the state he deserves to get the same fate as a TDOT worker who sleeps on the job or otherwise doesn't do his job to the expectations of his superiors. No matter our distaste, Lane Kiffin and Tommy West work for the fine people of the State of Tennessee. If either of these men fail to meet the expectations of his boss he deserves to be fired.
