Term limit legislation, even in an Amendment, is an acknowledgment that the unfettered election process can't be trusted to choose the best candidate. Our distrust of the democratic process of free elections is exposed when we depend on a term-limit law to protect us from ourselves. Arbitrary limits that replace the one set up by the Constitution in the first place--the ability of free citizens to vote a bad candidate down while choosing the good one--speak to our abdication of our responsibility to make the best choice.

How many years over how many terms is too many? For some, ONE term was one term too many. One President gets elected for more than two terms and we pass the 22nd Amendment. Maybe FDR should not have run for that 4th term due to failing health, but we can require medical tests today to prevent that one factor (see the 25th Amendment). If doing a job is limited to a decade or so, then apply it to all jobs, not just political ones. Set time limits on ALL jobs, great and small if it is a valid idea. What is there about politics that some feel it is best done by amateurs, and when they have been around long enough to do it well, we tell them it's time to quit and go home. Now if you want to talk about a national "Recall Election" Law, then you might have a point.
The Confederate States Constitution as originally drafted and adopted limited the president to a single six year term.

Are you trying to tell me that Jesus Christ can't hit a curve ball?

Maybe not. I think the point of his message is to make us all better hitters. He seems to have teamed up with former President Palmer and All State Insurance on his "Hats for Bats" initiative.
