at least it was on that day back in the Liberty Bowl. Turns out that was the last game the Oilers played here.
I was there and I'll never forget it - the Steelers players actually waiving their hands to encourage 'home' support.
The most stasfying post-season game was when Baltimore ousted the Nashville Oilers.
Pittsburgh v. Arizona should be a really good football game.
MEMPHIS' football team is the Tigers. After that there is as much a connection to an NFL team in nashville as there is to one in Pittsburgh. And properly less to that specific Oiler team in Nashville.

But, I know your ability to spell is questionable.
I've only lived in the city and the metro area about 5 years (never paid much attention to who rooted for who while in Oxford), but I've never doubted for a second the Steelers had a huge following here. I don't know if they'd come out #1 in a "Who is your favorite team?" poll, but they might if you polled actual NFL fans and not casual fans who think "Tennessee has a team called the Titans. I live in Tennessee. Therefore, the Titans are my favorite team."
