It appears it will take him more than one year to develop. He seems to not be adjusting quickly to the speed of the game and his role. In the long run (for next year) this may be a blessing in disguise.
We are officially rebuilding.
he seems to be hesitating every time he has the ball.
yeah. let's hope he improves. we'll need him to play well, obviously, if we are going to make any sort of run in the tourney.

Think 2010.. and think BIG.
Just a freshman. He made freshman mistakes.

i hope he stays. at least, when wagner left, he was playing well although he might have been a ball hog. at least, stats wise, he was very good. if Tyreke stays, then we'll have one hell of a team next yr. hopefully we get Wall, coz we desperately need a point guard.
I'm not giving up on this year just yet. I still think we have the potential to make a run in the tourney. Not saying we are going to win it all, but I think we can go pretty deep (sweet 16ish) It takes time for things to gel. Things will start clicking sooner or later. The Tigers are in a slump right now and aren't even playing anywhere close to their potential, yet they are still in every one of their games near the end. I mean, how many times do you see a team shoot 7-33 from behind the arc and still be in the game against the #11 team in the country?
Evans has all the tools the I have said before and I will say again, the mechanics of his jump shot will not make it to the next level. He will not get the shot off.
He should stay and improve his shot-but somehow-I think in the end he declares because Mr Xavier is coming.
Cal has a log jam about to take place. The boy's shot is broke and it will take offseason to fix.

If you are saying we can't play X, Wall, and Tyreke at the same time, I say you are nuts. I also say we are likely to win it all next year. Pain this year purchases euphoria next year.

I wish I shared your optimism.
I'm not sure if we have the potential to make a run this year, simply due to the probability of securing a low seed in the tournament. We desperately needed this game today, as it was the last opportunity to defeat a legitimate opponent on our home floor.
We have exactly two chances left to impress the tournament committee, but it will be extremely difficult to beat either Tennessee or Gonzaga on the road with this young and inexperienced group. If we do drop both of those, then we are looking at a 7-10 seed, regardless of dominating Conference USA.
My expectation for this year has shifted dramatically after today's game. If we manage to squeeze 22 wins out of this bunch, continuing to show improvement throughout the year and earning a tournament invitation, I will consider it to be a successful season.
Next November, we return to form.
Tyreke is a freshman making the adjustment to bigtime D1 ball. He doesn't suck.
I think we can go into the tournament with a 6 seed honestly. If you think about it, the way we are playing now isn't really characteristic of anybody right now. Tyreke is still adjusting, he's taking a little longer that normal but I believe he will get there. Dozier and Anderson haven't been themselves this year and that is key this year. I don't think that's a season long thing, they are just in a little funk right now. We will improve alot. After the holidays, I expect to see a completely different team on the court.

There is the thread title -- to draw interest -- and then there is the thread content.

Pretty much what I have been thinking. I understand the coach publicly defending him (he is a freshman) but this doesn't mean I have to accept what the coach is saying. Tyreke still has bad shot selection and has trouble finding ways to staying involved (+ keep others involved). I'm concerned that his shot selection will negatively impact the other players. He should not be a one and done based on what we are seeing but if the pros what him them he should take the money and run. Too many holes in his game at this point.
