tore the same damn acl again! not good for our 08-09 season. at all. should be in snewz tomorrow and on irvines blog a little later.
EDIT:
This is not true. I personally talked to one of our basketball coaches and PDIII is perfectly fine and ready to go. AB.
I predict two wins.

Wow! The same ACL? This is bad...for him! That could be a career-ender.

UAB- The university that can never get a break.

I was thinking the same thing.
Any details?
When did it happen, is it a complete tear or partial, has an MRI been done to confirm or is this just speculation, etc....

Brad at the ticket office told me they are still checking on it and hoped it wasn't too serious. I was ordering my season tickets when I read the thread. Not sure how informed he was, so take it for what it's worth....
This is news to me I seriously doubt this
Can we get confirmation from Attalla or Shelby County Blazer before we line up to drop off the cliff. Even if true, we are still in good shape.
A. Without Delaney, we basically have the same team as last year with the inclusion of TRod. We won over 20 games last year and finished 2nd in the conference.
B. If true, we lost Delaney early enough that we can plan our season without him. Practice hasn't even officially started yet. We lost Delaney after the season started and I truly believe the loss of him cost us a couple of early season games. We have enough time to compensate for the loss this time around.
Everyone stop hitting the panic button. We are OK.
+1 MB. Fans shouldn't worry about the team. I'm just sad for Paul if this is true.

I agree we'll still be good, but this is still a major loss if true.
Maybe that's why Vaden got drunk.....j/k
More double teams for him now.
It is possible he could petition the NCAA for a 6th year of eligibility based on medical hardships....if he so desires.
If this is true, I feel cheated out of 2 good years from PDIII and Demario Eddins.
MemphisBlazer,
I agree on all the points you made. Expectations for TRod just went up a whole lot.

Reasons to panic.
ECU = better
Marshall = better
UTEP = better
Memphis = always good
Tulsa = better
I could go on.
If true, UAB = sinking

If this turns out to not be true, Blazerball should be forced to either buy everyone on this board a drink or be banned forever.

This is all completely false, Delaney is fine.
I mispoke earlier, Brad at the ticket office said he would check on Delaney, not that the trainers were checking on Delaney.
Do not doubt that they are looking at this board!
IT is not true ..... one good news for this month
Caveat venditor? Somebody needs Message Board 101.

BOO THIS MAN!
I may have the same source as some other people on this board, but apparently Paul Delaney didn't know that he had torn his ACL.
What was your source?

Wow... not cool to joke about if it was just a joke. UAB would still probably be OKAY without Delaney, but he's definitely a big piece to the puzzle for this upcoming season. We've had enough bad news this season for UAB athletics... we don't need any more.
This is not true. I personally talked to one of our coaches today and PDIII is fine and ready to go. This BS is not funny and cause quite a ruckus even in the Athletic department. Appropriate steps will be taken against the guilty party.

Blazerball424, you are the weakest link. Goodbye!
