Man, I flew out to Roanoke, VA yesterday and got there late last night after being delayed in Atlanta. I checked in to some dirtbag hotel under the Hampton Inn logo, the bed sucked, the heater was a wall unit that ran loud all night making the room hot / cold / hot / cold and the Paul Finebaum at the front desk didn't give me a wake up call so I was thirty minutes late for my appointment.
On top of that, I get to the airport a couple hours early and 30 minutes before we are supposed to board, Atlanta air traffic control delays our flight by three hours. They stick me on another flight 2 hours later to Cincinnati where we land and sit on the tarmack an hour because they don't have a gate available. We finally pull into the gate and I get off the small plane and it is cold as hell, snowing like crazy and I finally make it into the terminal and end up running across the fricken terminal like OJ Simpson, barely make it on another plane to come to Birmingham and it takes another hour to get through the de-icing process on the tarmack because there are so many planes in line.
I finally make it back to Birmingham and I turn the damn station to 101.1 and the UAB game is not on, but instead GW's speech. I start screaming bloody murder and then find it on AM 850. I heard the last 10 minutes of the game.
I come home check emails and read the message board to find out who we signed and etc. and I come across the thread on the smack board, reading the quote above...
and started laughing my arse off! Thank you, I needed that.
