Just heard him say that healthcare premiums will be based on your family's income. That's a bunch of crap. Looks like I'm gonna have to find a way to hind my income, so my premium will be zero or low.
McCain plans to tax you for your health insurance you get at work. How you gonna hide that?
both ideas are incredibly stupid
I agree, both plans are stupid.
Neither will get implemented anytime soon. Either would cost far too much and the insurance company lobbyists will ensure the status quo remains for at least the short-term.

Your premium should be based on risk factors (duh), just like car insurance. You want to smoke 3 packs per day? Fine, pay double or whatever.

So what if breast cancer runs in your family?

or diabetes?

NO..

look both plans are dumb, it's time to stop, look at the direction we are going and see that it's not working. We need to take a few steps back to around the mid-90's and move to another direction.

Then get regular mammograms. I'm sure the insurance companies would much rather pay for a scan every 6 months than a bilateral mastectomy.

Diabetes (type II) is completely preventable.

I was talking with one of my attending physicians the other night and she says that there needs to be more competition. Right now there are only X number of health insurance companies because the lack of competition keeps costs high. I tend to agree with her capitalistic approach.

The biggest thing about insurance is how little people actually care about their health, but then when they get hit with a hefty doctor's bill they bitch and moan about it. Work 1 shift with me and you'll see what I'm talking about.
