What is it?
Much like the Digital Archive Project, the Georgia Tech Video Archives strive to maintain a long term archive of Georgia Tech sports that have aired on television.

What are the rules?
1) Anything commercially available cannot be shared.
2) The GTVA is totally unaffiliated from the NCAA, ACC, Georgia Institute of Technology, NCAA Network, NCAAbbs ... and all subsidiaries, subgroups, affiliates, or partners or the aforementioned.
3) There is only so much hard drive space. Some games may be in offline storage. You can request a game you cannot find on the network to be moved online by using the "Chat" inside of Alliance. Don't expect an overnight response. In general we'll move only a small handful of games online every month.
4) Obvious leechers will be kicked off the network. You must help share what you download.
5) Once you are on the network, you have the ability to invite others. You may do so, HOWEVER, keep in mind that if you aren't networked properly (have setup Alliance's port to go through your firewall, router, etc) those you invite will have a terrible time downloading from the core user group on the network. Also, things they download must go THROUGH you. That could effect your download speeds handsomely. So we encourage you to direct all people who want in to come here and get a key from us. It keeps everybody as connected as possible.
6) If you want to contribute your own rips, please conform to the following naming standard:
(Sport)(Year) - GT (vs/at) (Opponent Abbreviated).avi
Sport: BeesB, BB, WBB, VB, FB
Year: 2008, 2007, etc

For example: (FB)(2007) - GT at ND.avi

How can I join?
Download and install Alliance P2P. http://alliancep2p.sourceforge.net . If you use Linux, read this:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=776897

Choose a username. Something unique-ish. You will be made fun of if you put your real name or social security number in as your username.

When you first run Alliance, it will prompt you to generate a key or input a key from a friend. Choose input a key from a friend. At the bottom of this thread you'll see a "Most recent key". They key is only good FOR ONE PERSON. So if we haven't updated it after somebody has used it, wait for a new key or post a reply here asking for one. We'll try to update as often as possible.

Other settings of interest (View --> Options)
- Maximum upload speed
- Shared folders
- ***Leave the encryption setting at weak. Alliance is buggy under SSL encryption.***

What is available?
In general, every televised football game over the last several years.... that didn't end badly. Same deal for basketball and baseball. We even have some volleyball and women's basketball. We even have some old classics like the 1991 Citrus Bowl. For more details -- ask around in the Chat Room in Alliance after connecting. Also look for the following file on the network:
GTVA - Master Listing - (Date).txt

can you provide a "key"? I am a big GT fan and would like a copy of today's GT 45 - UGA 42.

Ask and ye shall receive.

I just added 5 new keys above.
I am getting a could not connect error when I use any of the codes currently up. Does this just mean the codes are taken (I can be patient of course) or is there actually a connection problem?

"Your friend has alliance turned off or his firewall is blocking the connection"

Thanks for your help and for providing this great resource!

Means they've been used. I put another 5 up.
Is there a way to change the person you are downloading from? Swarm was who i was connected with, but i only got 1.48 mb downloaded and then it shut off. I have everything set up to not get kicked off. He is no longer logged in. Do I just try to start over?
Hey guys, the last code I see is "RHcob3ZRYeF8AQ" but it's not working for me. Time for some more? Can't wait to see this game again...

CES
I too would love to get a copy, but the codes seem to already have been used. New ones would be great, thanks!
Try this one: GGPJzUyNZV6Ypw
Thanks copycat, I'm now in with you using "GGPJzUyNZV6Ypw," but I see that you haven't found a copy of the game yet either, huh? I'll keep looking...
Any keys available?

Thanks!
I'm still downloading, but you should be able to search for it if you have Swarm added in, which you should as he's a mutual friend of mine.
copycat,

Alliance said something about it sending a "friend request" type message to Swarm, and that he'd have to OK me.

Thanks again for the help,

Chris
I would appreciate a code to get the "end of the streak" game with the humpers
Try this code: GGPJzUyN8cyrFg
Thanks! No luck yet with getting 48-45?
copycat Wrote:Try this code: GGPJzUyN8cyrFg

Any more codes available? I too would love to grab a few games.
This should work for an infinite number of people: RHcob3ZRpgm!wQ
Thanks!
So I downloaded the Alliance P2P software and installed it. I was able to set it up properly and downloaded my first game. It said I complete the download so I closed the program and shut down my comp. When I got up in the morning, the software would not open and was giving me a bomb symbol and error message without much of an explanation. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled only to get this message when trying to open Alliance, "Unable to access jarfile alliance.tmp". Any advice for this novice?

I'm guessing you're on Windows.

I'd run a filesystem check that also checks how the disc is operating just to make sure your hard drive is fine and not starting to do weird stuff (an indication of a dieing drive).
I am using Windows as my OS. It is a brand new notebook though, so I doubt it is a dying hard drive. I've been able to run Alliance as an administrator, but I still get the bomb icon error message every time I start up my computer. No biggie as I'm getting what I need now.

Anyone have any of the 4 games Tony Hollings played in? I'd love to re-watch those. I was checking the stat sheet on ramblinwreck.com and was amazed at the numbers he put up (I guess I'd just forgotten how amazing he was).

Check the master listing file.
Is there a new key to see files of old games...

This one RHcob3ZRpgm!wQ should work indefinitely. Once connected, search for and download "Code Listing". Follow the instructions therein. Also look for and download "Master Listing" to see all the stuff available. Some games aren't on alliance but people on alliance have them (burned to DVDs or whatnot).

It says that your friends firewall is on or they have turned their alliance off....I am doing this wrong? Thanks

Probably so. I see that GTS and I are both on, so the codes should be working. If you're getting this message, it usually means that the port forwarding isn't setup right on your end yet.

The indefinite code listed above doesn't seem to be working for me. I am getting the same message about alliance being turned off or the firewall is blocking the ip. Is there a new code that I can use? Thanks in advance!

Looks like GTS is offline at the moment. Try this code, it should allow you to connect to me (and I have the larger archive anyway so nyeh!): GGPJzUyNRsYmYA

Hey guys, I saved this thread a while back and just now decided to join up to make getting Tech multimedia a bit easier. Anyway, could I get an alliance code?
Hey, the current key isn't working. Could I get a new one? Thanks.
