What is it?
Much like the Digital Archive Project, the Georgia Tech Video Archives strive to maintain a long term archive of Georgia Tech sports that have aired on television.
What are the rules?
1) Anything commercially available cannot be shared.
2) The GTVA is totally unaffiliated from the NCAA, ACC, Georgia Institute of Technology, NCAA Network, NCAAbbs ... and all subsidiaries, subgroups, affiliates, or partners or the aforementioned.
3) There is only so much hard drive space. Some games may be in offline storage. You can request a game you cannot find on the network to be moved online by using the "Chat" inside of Alliance. Don't expect an overnight response. In general we'll move only a small handful of games online every month.
4) Obvious leechers will be kicked off the network. You must help share what you download.
5) Once you are on the network, you have the ability to invite others. You may do so, HOWEVER, keep in mind that if you aren't networked properly (have setup Alliance's port to go through your firewall, router, etc) those you invite will have a terrible time downloading from the core user group on the network. Also, things they download must go THROUGH you. That could effect your download speeds handsomely. So we encourage you to direct all people who want in to come here and get a key from us. It keeps everybody as connected as possible.
6) If you want to contribute your own rips, please conform to the following naming standard:
(Sport)(Year) - GT (vs/at) (Opponent Abbreviated).avi
Sport: BeesB, BB, WBB, VB, FB
Year: 2008, 2007, etc
For example: (FB)(2007) - GT at ND.avi
How can I join?
Download and install Alliance P2P. http://alliancep2p.sourceforge.net . If you use Linux, read this:

Choose a username. Something unique-ish. You will be made fun of if you put your real name or social security number in as your username.
When you first run Alliance, it will prompt you to generate a key or input a key from a friend. Choose input a key from a friend. At the bottom of this thread you'll see a "Most recent key". They key is only good FOR ONE PERSON. So if we haven't updated it after somebody has used it, wait for a new key or post a reply here asking for one. We'll try to update as often as possible.
Other settings of interest (View --> Options)
- Maximum upload speed
- Shared folders
- ***Leave the encryption setting at weak. Alliance is buggy under SSL encryption.***
What is available?
In general, every televised football game over the last several years.... that didn't end badly. Same deal for basketball and baseball. We even have some volleyball and women's basketball. We even have some old classics like the 1991 Citrus Bowl. For more details -- ask around in the Chat Room in Alliance after connecting. Also look for the following file on the network:
