Let's do a reverse of hometown fans traveling to opponents' sites. If you are a out of town fan, how many home games of your school do you attend. For me, it is a real headache. I have to time a trip back to Oklahoma to coincide with my family going ons, the school reunion, and the football schedules. Historically, I have been only been able to make one game a season.

Now that I am in the steps of retiring, I will make two trips to Oklahoma this fall. I will see UNM to open Chapman Stadium. Later in October, I will see UCF @Tulsa. Tulsa's schedule is a bit oddball this year and so those are the only two games I can work in.

Unlike OU and OSU, Tulsa has historically played games in the east. So, I have seen TU @Navy, @Army, @ECU, @UCF (twice) @West Va, @N. Carolina, @Va Tech 9(twice), @Temple, and @Cincy. This year I very much look forward to seeing TU @Marshall, my adopted CUSA/West school and I have gotten to know the UCF fans and they are a great bunch of people too. I just love all of it.

My second trip to Oklahoma I call a football pleasure trip and not a family trip. Airfare and hotels will cost me about 10 times the cost of a season ticket that I have purchased. This latter point is the real agony of being an out of town fan. Now that I am retiring, the agony of balancing family, sports, and business schedules is less of an issue.
Living in Birmingham, I usually get back for about 2-3 games a year. I love the years when Southern Miss travels to UAB b/c that is like a home game travel wise.
