The Mtn. Now Available Nationwide on Channel 616
Aug. 27, 2008
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -
Beginning today, fans across the country have ultimate access to Mountain West Conference sports, as DIRECTV, the nation's leading satellite television service provider, launches The Mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network.
The Mtn. is available on channel 616 on DIRECTV CHOICE and above packages for the states servicing MWC institutions (Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming and the designated market areas of Dallas/Fort Worth and San Diego). Customers throughout the remainder of the country will be able to access The Mtn. with a subscription to DIRECTV's Sportspack.
The Mtn. will broadcast 30 live regular-season football games this season, including six triple-header Saturdays. The network also will telecast over 100 men's and women's basketball contests this season in addition to its comprehensive array of news, features, original programming and analysis on MWC teams, coaches and players.
The 2008 college football season kicks off for The Mtn. on Saturday, Aug. 30, with its "MWC Football Saturday," an addition to the network's scheduled lineup that will give fans a greater in-depth look at the key games and march-ups that will be taking place across the league. Following the first installment of "MWC Football Saturday," Wyoming will open the 2008 season against Ohio (noon MT), while Northern Iowa will make the trip to Provo to face BYU (4 p.m. MT) live on The Mtn.
