My favorite UAB was Kevin Drake's over the shoulder (defenders that is) catch...forget Prothro we did it first 02-13-banana
2nd was the time eating drive in the ECU game w/ Thomas Cox IIRC when we beat them at LF when they were ranked 03-nutkick
I still like Hackney's bone crushing stiff arm in the TCU game.
Hackney to Roddy on the quick slant, Roddy to the house.
I like the Hack stiff arm in Srarkville, it was MUCH more violent that the TCU one.

Here is one, Derrick Ingram picks up an onside kick against PVAMU and takes it to the house.
Rodrigues Brooks coming back in the second half, after a visit to the hospital.

you beat me to it

Mine too.

Rhett's kick against LSU will always be in my mind.
My wife is a LSU fan, and I bring it up constantly.
Even better than the Hackney stiff-arm, in the same game there was a broken play, fumble, then Hackney leading the running back on an end run with Hackney pulverizing a Miss St linebacker!

I remember watching that game at home; the close-ups and commentary were top-notch on that one.

Rodregis Brooks picking off David Gerrard inside his own 5, and taking it to the house, after riding the crash board. I know that game has been mentioned, but that play was special.

Corey White running to Jesus against Memphis.
For me? Without a doubt it was the 2003 game versus Baylor here in Waco. Hackney to Coon for a 50 yard touchdown with only 40 seconds left to win the game. Man! That was electric. The entire sideline errupted. What a game and what a finish! I'll never forget it.

Great play and great game. Also, it was great to be there.

The TD with 19 secs left at Army (D-Hack to Quinnie) was also pretty special. Especially since Dr. Garrison was sitting in the cold with us.

Yep that is the play for me. Wearing the shirt off his Mother's back no less. I did a quadruple take, rubbed my eyes and asked the guy next to me, "Is that Brooks on the field?" I believe he caught an interception upon his return as well.

There are so many I should like better...but nothing captures the spirit, for me, of my Blazers better than:

01-ncaabbs The Thomas Cox Body Slam!!!* 01-ncaabbs

The crowd at the game was all like "Oooooo!!" Then later when I got home Fox 6 sports looped it. So epic... 04-rock

I have looked and looked and never found video of it. If anyone knows where I could find it let me know.

*We actually had just thrown a pick. Cox was so pissed off he found the bastard who stole his football and picked him up and dropped him on his pointy head. Colorful though my explaination is, I think it was technically a legitimate tackle. I don't think we got a personal foul for it (though I could be wrong on this point 03-sly ).

You're right. Thomas was accessed an Unsportslike penalty. And, in one of the very few times I agreed with Zero, he explained "if Thomas had not been the quarterback, he would not have been penalized".

WWF Thomas Cox.
Thomas Cox threw an interception and body slammed the corner back who intercepted the ball. He received a 15 yard penalty. Watson asked the ref why did we get a flag. The ref told Watson if he did not throw the flag Tulane would take a cheap shot at the qb. The ref was right and it was worth every yard. We won the game.

Maybe. I do know that Thomas got his revenge by running for a butt-load of yards in that game.

I think it was Cox piledriving the dude into the bench that got everyone so worke up.
Lots of great ones, but 'the kick' was awesome!
I was on Dauphin Street with a few bammer friends when ESPN cut in to show it.
I would say the kick at Baton Rouge I lost my voice screaming.
The kick is an awesome memory I have, but I also remember being pretty fired up during the Dunbar interception return against FSU last year.
Any play that was Hackey to White. Those guys could read each others minds.
Reggie Linsey punt return at MSU. The 1st half defensive performance against Baylor in Birmingham.

Yep, as far as in person, Rodregis Brooks and Thomas Cox vs. ECU is the best, most salient UAB football memory for me.

Lots of memories,,, Probably the 2 best in-person game winners were Nick Coon's catch as a freshman in Waco to beat Baylor with the clock running out, and Rhett's kick in Red Stick land to put the dagger in the heart of the LSU homecoming crowd in a similar fashion at the end.
Chris Brown Interception to set up game winning FG vs LSU.04-rock
Anytime Hackney threw the football.04-rock
R. Brooks vs. ECU.04-rock
Roddy White reaches over a DB's back to make a juggling catch.(ECU?
Dunbar picks off FSU for a TD04-rock
8 minute 80yd option laden drive in the 2nd qtr. vs Nebraska04-rock
When I first thought of this it never did occur to me until seeing some of the other plays mentioned that it might be nice if someone from the SI dept would put together a highlight reel of UAB plays from the club days all the way till now for a fundraiser for the UAB faithfull, might also make a decent tool for recruiting as well for the exposure.

You beat me to it. I was 15 feet from Hackney when they came back and scored to take the lead. He was injured and there was no way he could play the final series. Hackney told Zero, he was going in and Zero told him that he couldn't because he was injured. Hackney ignored him and limped into the game and the second play fired a bullet to a skinny white freshman that could run. Baylor had brought the house in terms of blitzing. The media who overheard Zero tellling Hackney that he could not go in asked Zero after the game what he said. Zero said he told Hackney that it was his call. It was a great game on a hot Texas night in Waco with about 60 UAB fans in attendence to witness the amazing finale to a hard fought game!
