I was over on the SMU board last night and noticed a thread for Pony fans and their plans for attending Friday's game with the OWLS.
Since we are all a little curious about how big the crowd might be for the opening game, I thought a "roll call" of those who plan to attend from this board might be a barometer of alumni and student attendance.
I will be making a quick trek to Rice Stadium on Friday pm from my hiding place in West Texas to support the Blue and Gray.
Anybody else planning to be there?

I am neither an alumnus nor a student, but I'll be there with my wife and daughter. As soon as school is out on Friday, we are dashing to Houston for the game. Hopefully get there before the kickoff. Get up early Saturday morning to get back in time to call the offense for a 7:00 pm game.

I'll be there amidst a group of 13 who'll be pulling for the Blue and Grey. We will not be disappointed!!!!! GO OWLS!!!!! Let's look awesome on ESPN, in front of everyone. Let's make believers out of them. GO OWLS!!!!!GO RICE!!!!!! I hope all of ya'll are as anxious and fired up as I am about this game. The beginning of a great football season is upon us.

I will be there, with my mom and dad, who haven't been to a Rice game since I was an undergrad. My dad is very excited, as he lives for football - he's just excited to see ANY game, but the SMU + Rice matchup is a bonus.

d1owls and I will be there meeting 2 friends, and I have specifically told my parents not to watch the game, since every game they've watched over the last 4 years has been a loss.

So NOW we know who to blame!!

I've only missed one home game in the 42 years I've been back in Houston (National Guard duty) so I'll be there with a friend.

I plan to be there about 4 for the letterman's beer and BBQ. Leaving tickets at will call for the folks I'm "bringing" to the game since they will arrive about 6:30ish.

I plan to attend two of the three games in Tennessee.

I plan on being painted and losing (or nearly losing my voice) just like I have for nearly every other home game that has taken place while I was in Houston (regattas and vacations interrupted) the last two years.

I think student turnout might be pretty good for this one, and stay high if it's as exciting as it looks like it's gonna be...

Due to job conflicts I will not be there. But I have got a new job that will allow me to attend future games which I am very looking forward to.
