Im thinking about this.....

Couldn't work out a trip.... Hopefully someone else can go. Thanks for offering the tickets. 02-13-banana
Any way we could carpool? Gas is my only prob.
Braish,
I'm flying in from Texas. At least that is the plan today. If I don't fly, probably won't make it.
Then there are 4 tickets.

Maybe BTG would car pool?

cb?

edit: uh, that is about 770 miles. One way from B'ham.

No problem. I'll gas up the multi-colored Electric Kool-Aid Acid bus, get a sheet of blotter, some fresh shrooms, ten cases of PBR, a sack of sinsemilla, and my Freedom Rock tapes. All aboard!

I'm betting that flying Southwest would be cheaper than driving.
Flying would cost $196 each way from Bham to Ft. Lauderdale. plus car rental costs to get from there to Boca Raton.

Driving would be $95 each way in gas assuming you were driving by yourself and getting 30 MPG. Of course it's a 13 hour drive each way, which sort of sucks lol.

The get-away ticket price for that weekend from Birmingham to Ft. Lauderdale right now is $392 round-trip. All of the flights have stops in either Tampa or Orlando. Travel time is anywhere from 2 1/2 to 5 1/2 hours, depending upon the flight. According to Google Maps, it's an 11 1/2 drive from Birmingham, one way.

Assuming your car gets the national average of 19.3 miles per gallon highway, and you pay the current national average for gas of $3.66 per gallon, the 1,566-mile round trip would cost you $296.98 in gas.

It's definitely cheaper to drive.

I just discovered I can fly nonstop out of Nashville for just $258, and be there in 90 minutes. Hell, I may go to that game now!

Tropical Storm Hanna could be a factor in Florida late next week.
$244 round trip BHM-FLL on Delta
I probably should have said

"If anyone is going to be in the Miami Fla area next weekend...."

I didn't realize it was so far from B'ham. It is on the other side of the world from Texas, more ways than one, but still planning on it.

DragonClaw brought back more fond memories than I will ever admit to. You weren't at Ohio State in the mid 70s were you?

It should be past the Ft. Lauderdale area by game time. We'll have to see the sevrrity though. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
