It says

Quote:
EXTREMELY RARE MEMPHIS TIGER'S STAFF RING !

so it appears someone on the staff.

maybe Dana's broke...

or lost the ring in a card game.

I thought Askew might be needing money considering recent circumstances, but the "staff ring" shoots that down.
Very likely Dana's ring...he's the kind of guy who'da sold it to a huckster like T.J. Also, note the fact that the picture hides the name of the staff person on the side...has to be Dana imho.
Probably that snake Lee Fowler
Appropriately, it's presently located in 'Rat Mouth', FL under T.J.'s custody. There has to be an onomatopoeia in there, somewhere.
The ring belongs to nobody of consequence. I asked and the guy would not reveal it. If it was Kirk, Fowler or Finch he would say because the bidding would be much higher.
For $350, it makes a great centerpiece for a collection of tiger memorabilia. It still has 4 days though for a higher bid.
If it really is "Staff" and not Kirk, Fowler or Finch, who else was on board back then and got one? Spook? My original guess was Kirk to Belisomo to T.J. for the score.

Players who are no longer living? Holmes and Price.
Players who are not above something like that? Bedford and Askew
Wow this is crazy. Does Dana still live in Memphis. I know I read something awhile back that said he was doing radio in Memphis but I don't think he still does or does he? Somebody fill me in on the Dana situation I know he led us into probation and he was a renegade as a coach, but a good one.
Dana extorted money from the organizers of the Winston Tire Classic for Memphis to appear. He had them mail the money thus was guilty of using the postal service to commit the crime. Then tried to "influence" the testimony of a key witness against him.
No idea about this but I do remember somebody saying Willie Becton had put his up a few years ago...who knows if that's truth either??
