Okay, not a great college talent, but he did have speed. Did he transfer?
Anyone know what happened to him?

Spoke to his mom after the Tulsa game there a few years ago, she was very nice.

Thanks,
RJH
I believe he ended up at some small college in Oklahoma where his dad was coaching.
Northwestern Oklahoma State, to be exact.

Some feel he finally grew tired of Wolo accidentally calling him "Billy Barefoot" --- after the legendary "shoe fumble" play. Others know better --

This town would be an empty shell with a bunch of Suburbs if everybody
moved out who was tired of Dave's "Woloism's".

Good for Billy!! I will never forget the awesome block he threw to free DeAngelo for a long scoring run against UTEP. Seems like he made the right decision for his career and is doing very well.

Glad for Billy, no doubt that was the right decision for the young man...
Continued success !!!!!!!!!!

That was a very memorial block. He was moving at full speed and provided DeAngelo the last open space he needed to get into the endzone.

It's good to see that Billy found his level. He is NAIA talent and was over his head here in Memphis.

I completely disagree. I think he was D1 talent easily. He just wasn't tall enough to throw passes over defensive linemen.

not to be too controversial, but i think that was the 2nd to last block that did it....antonio mccoy took out 3 utep defenders at about the 10 that gave deangelo the cutback opportunity to get the score.

I acquiesce to someone with a better memory than me.....and who probably has that run on file somewhere. lol Those files are hard to argue with.

I just remember seeing Billy come flying in at full speed from what seemed like "nowhere" to make a key block late in the run.

I didn't know the Grizzle had drafted and signed "Arthur Durrell" until I heard Wolo interview Iavaroni..

I happy for Billy too..seemed like a good young man...

it's definitely not due to my memory, lol, but the tape, as you say. i think it was just a matter of the announcers yelling about the barefield block that they missed the one from mccoy.

DeAngelo UTEP TD

.

man....that was awesome

Maybe, but Barefield's block is a better story to tell.

I figured Albert Means ate him

like i said, they were freaking out so much over barefield's block that they never acknowledged mccoy's.
