NORMAN — Oklahoma basketball player Blake Griffin was ticketed by Norman police late last week for "outraging public decency.”
The offense: urinating on bushes in a parking lot near the edge of the OU campus at 701 College Avenue.
It's too bad school is not in session for this game. This kid has a huge ego and was kind of a douchebag at the Rice-OU basketball game last year. He deserves to get an earful from the Army.
"Outraging public decency" ... that sounds like a citation issued in the 1890's by a guy with a handlebar mustache and bowler hat.
Having met Blake several times, I can say without question that the kid doesn't have a huge ego.
When he's on the court he's intense and a downright animal, but off it he's very humble.
And who hasn't pissed in the bushes on campus before?

GUILTY, your honor......................................
Not when I was sober...
See, I think that's where he outraged public decency. How could he do that without some appreciable amount of alcohol in his system?
Can't say I haven't done it... I recall the story about New Orleans cops who caught some guys peeing on an alley wall during Mardi Gras; the cops told them to take off their shirts and clean the wall. Apparently they couldn't be bothered with having to fill out a citation.
Isn't that what bushes are for?

Let he who is without sin cast the first kidney stone.
I recall getting a phone call when I was at Rice telling me that my roommate was in the Bellaire Police Department jail, but he would be released and not charged if I would pick him up within a half hour. Apparently he thought that after a post-game attitude adjustment session, it was a good idea to relieve his bladder on the plate glass front window of the police station as the female cop was walking down the hall toward him.
He didn't get charged, but he did have his bed bounced with a foot on the corner until he was well into drive heaving into the trashcan stage. He didn't particularly appreciate the alarm by his bed when we had to get up to run the next morning either, nor did he pass many of the grates on the football field without chumming the drains with the contents of his stomache. It was truly an awful run for him. And then he complained when we had to go pick up his car at the Bellaire police station after we finished running, thinking it truly unfair that they wouldn't let him drive it home the night before when they let him out of the drunk tank -- after all, he hadn't had anything to drink for at least an hour by then!
Of to be young and foolish again....
