Marshall

2008- $1.2 mil Shewey Building renovation; XOS Sportmotion System

2009- $2 mil(estimate) HD scoreboard and audio system

New for this year:

- UCF Intercollegiate Rowing Center

Also:

The old UCF arena is becoming 2 things (same building but completely different areas) -

1) The Venue @ UCF - home of our volleyball program. If you don't count programs that share their basketball and volleyball courts this suddenly jumps to one of the top "home courts" for NCAA volleyball.

2) UCF Basketball Practice Facility. Two courts, each having 6 baskets, shot clocks and scoreboards. Both mens and womens 3-pt lines. Connects to the UCF Arena. Also has state of the art locker rooms free weight and machine equipment cadio and treadmills as well as sports medicine facilities.

- Some modest facility upgrades in the works for baseball

- There may be one more big one but mums is the word for now.
UAB just finished a $500,000 renovation of the student-athlete academic center.

Brand new training facility completed in June.

Brand new 10,000 square foot weight room completed in April.

A new scoreboard is said to be in the works for the baseball field.

Building new tennis courts.

Next project is either an on campus softball field or a football fieldhouse.

2008 - $2.5 mil softball field

opening this year, is the new student wellness center which is part of a $100 mil project. it looks amazing so far, and I can't wait til it's finished.

Any of you guys check out that Sportmotion video at the bottom of the XOS page? That thing is amazing... I just want to wear the goggles one time and play NCAA 09 on it!
Just completed 10+ million dollar Case Athletic Complex (located on the north end of Chapman Stadium) for football (locker rooms, coaches offices/meeting rooms, medical, academic center and fb hall of honor etc.). 25+ million dollar renovation of stadium (suites, boxes, press box, daktronics-jumbotron, new seating, renovation).

In the past dozen or so years TU has built (8,500 seat) Reynolds Center 30 Million dollar arena for mbb/wbb/wvb. Case Tennis Center a state of the art 12-15 million dollar indoor/outdoor facility that has hosted two NCAA national tennis tournaments already. A new softball facility and a new track/field and soccer facility. The Case TC, softball, track/soccer facilities and 2 auxilary fields are part of the $30,000,000 Hardesty complex on the west side of campus. Rowing just recently finished a large indoor row tank, offices, dressing rooms and indoor training area and a new river equipment storage facility on the Verdigris river. Also golf, volleyball have renovated the Mabee Gymnasium into indoor practice areas on campus. Also recently the football program converted an area of Mabee Gym into an indoor practice area although it is not to fb field regulation.

There has been some discussion about where to go with the next facility and speculation is either a full size indoor facility for all sports or a bowling in of the stadiums south end zone. That is just specualtion.

The TU campus is really torn up at this time with the construction. A new front door to the campus with an extensive fountain and landscaped garden area with acres of open space. The Collins Administrative building, library expansion and other projects in addition to the stadium are creating some campus headaches at this time. Starting very soon is the Lorton Performing Arts Building (40 million dollars) for music, film and stage productions. Also within a short time is an expansion of our engineering building, Keplinger Hall that will significantly increase its engineering/science capability. Anyone who has not seen the campus in the last 10 years or so, won't recognize it due to the huge building boom here, especially for such a small enrollment.
UTEP's 43,000 square-foot, $13 million basketball practice facility is currently under construction and scheduled to open in October.

Artist's rendition of finished product:

$11.95

I bought one of those flag things that clips to your car window!!!!!
The big news for us is the renovation of Autry Court (basketball etc.) to the tune of around $30M. In many ways it will be an entirely new facility.

Reckling Park (baseball) got a new playing surface and scoreboard last year. It was considered one of the best facilities in the nation even before that.

Rice Stadium (football) also got a new playing surface this offseason. There are rumors of more changes after the season, but I don't have details.
