Hello All,

Just wanted to let everyone know when and where signups were going to be for the '08-'09 season! We are excited about this year as we have been working very hard over the summer to get things organized and better run to get more students involved.

One of the things that we are introducing a new Point/Reward system that we hope will encourage more student involvement and give us a way to better track attendance! We will be giving membership cards to all members and pick certain games for all sports that we will reward points for going to. All football and basketball games will have points and certain, Volleyball, Soccer and W Basketball games. Check out our website for complete details as we will be updating it in the next few days!

We are also now under the TSF and Development office, so we will have more resources and will be working closely with them to see how we can keep improving and keep gaining support for Memphis Athletics.

We look forward to this year for our Tigers and are trying to do everything we can to show our support for every team!! Any other questions check out our website MemphisBlueCrew.org!

Thanks and Go Tigers!

And here are the times and dates for the signups!!

I'll be in the Tiger Den Tuesday signing up 03-wink
I'll touch base with you man. Glad to see more enthusiasm from the leadership this year!
I'll be there Tuesday. I am all about a point system.
I'll be there on Tuesday or Wednesday!
I'll sign up again sometime this week. Are you going down to the Ole Miss game? I've got a group of students coming down with me. Didn't know if you were tailgating anywhere or where everyone was sitting.

Its about time someone in the Athletic Office pulled ya'll in. Glad to see ya'll are being proactive in adjusting the membership policies that have proven to be flawed in the past. It might be difficult to make real changes but I'm sure it will pay off in the long run as a points and reward system will encourage all students to get involved and be more than just your average "i signed up for a t-shirt and an occasional priority seat" blue crew member. Good luck with the changes. If ya'll constantly work to make it better, you just might transform the Blue Crew into the premier student organization on campus.

i think we may be tailgating down there, ill get back to you for sure on it. Being so close to the beginning of school we werent able to plan and make this an official trip for us all. but i know quite a few are going so i would bet they would tailgate together.

thats what we are working for, we know it may be a slow process at times, but we are working our hardest to make Blue Crew a premier organization and to get more student involvement in all the athletics. Thanks for the support pkp.

I am hoping a lot of Memphis folks will be tailgating next to the TadPad, as that is where I am planning to go. If you guys tailgate somewhere different, let us know.

05-bump
you know the one and only hat girls will be there!
:)
I like the point system.
Stickied so you don't have to keep bumping. :)
I have been making road band the last 3 years with a point system and I have been to probably 30 events (M/W soccer, volleyball, W basketball, etc.) where not one Blue Crew member was in sight. I feel pretty confident I will do good with a point system. So good job whoever decided to do it like that!

thanks Steve!

God, I can't wait untill Tuesday to sign up. I don't know why but I'm really excited about the Blue Crew this year haha.
Im joining the Blue Crew this year!! A lot of my friends are already apart of it, so why not jump on the train
what do the points/rewards go to?

mlawtiger Wrote:

points will go towards, a tally so we can do a lottery for road trip tickets, NCAA tournament tickets and also it will serve as a way to do a reward program that encourages attendance. The more points you get the different reward levels you can get to so we are hoping this will improve attendance and participation. The website will have further info on it by tomorrow hopefully and we are handing out a letter explaining this to all who sign up. Hope this helps.

Go Tigers!

oh and by the way, we had a great day today at Sign ups, signing up over 115 people in just over an hour and a half today at the Student Involvement fair!!! We did this all in the mix of rain and thunderstorms overhead. Looking forward to the rest of the week and seeing what is in store for the signups left!
I'll in the Tiger Den tomorrow to sign-up. Cash only or do you take checks?

Awesome, see ya tomorrow then 03-wink
I was going to try to make it tomorrow, but looks like it'll be Wednesday...Ah I'm so glad is college time again...
Looks like I missed it today. I got there around 11:15 and one of my buddies said yall just left, and since the flyer said untill 2pm, I figured the people up there went to eat lunch or had a class and you couldn't find anyone to sit in their spot. Anyways, so I went to my next class, got out around 12:30 and went back to the Tiger Den and still no sign of blue crew sign ups.
Ahh nevermind, just saw the facebook message. So, whos speaking at the "big" sign-up meeting?

It's all good man. My prayers are with you and your family. Sorry to hear about that. I'll be there tomorrow night.
just curious what are the shirts gonna look like this year?
The Shirts are pretty cool, the front pretty much looks the same as last year, huge tiger logo and font that say blue crew. The back goes right along with the football teams marketing campaign "Your Town, Your Team" It says, My Town, My Team". I guess you gotta see it. It's nice.

As far as the meeting went....well I gotta say I left a little depressed haha. Hearing the soccer and volleyball teams talk about how they have no fan support outside their parents made me feel like crap haha. I will have to go to some of those to make up for that this year. Also, alot of the kids in there didn't seem very enthused...maybe its because alot of them were freshmen and are still shy, maybe not. Who knows. I did talk to Jim and am going to sign up for the Highland Hundred tomorrow this year. Looking forward to Saturday! Go Tigers!
Well I was never a Memphis student but I would love to have a T-shirt supporting the tigers since I am originally from Memphis. I went to a Div. II school in AR to play baseball and receive a free education. I live just outside of Little Rock and have to hear about the damn HOGS all day every day. It gets old. So an extra T-shirt showing the blue off would be nice. Anyway, I can send a check and have a shirt mailed out to me? I understand all the benefits of the Blue Crew as far as the point system, etc would not apply to me I would just like a shirt only.
I don't know, you would have to talk to memphistiger4life. I tried to donate an extra 10 bucks last night and they wouldn't let me lol.
I was hoping that he would reread the thread an answer the question. He might have sent me a PM and answered it but I haven't looked. If anyone knows him outside the board ask him if that would be a big deal.
i am sure they only give Blue Crew t-shirts to Blue Crew members.
sorry...but you can get a tiger shirt online at tiger bookstore or tiger gift shop, and they'll send it to you.

sorry Divided , its been a busy week so I havent been on hear as much as I usually am, but unfortunately in order to get a T-Shirt you do have to in fact be a member and a student at Memphis. I wish i could help ya out on this and again sorry that this didn't work out.

Website has been updated, with the current member total and also our newest feature of signing up online, go check it out...

More than halfway to the goal in just the first week of school! Nice! I don't live in Memphis so i had to stay at my friends apartment and I talked him and his roommate into joining so they will be by tomorrow to sign up.
It's alright. It was just a thought I had. No problem guys.
Here is the tailgating info for this weekend as well as all football games! And again i want to thank Highland Hundred and Tiger Gift Shop for helping us out and letting us tailgate with all of them!!

See you all Saturday!!!

Attached is the information for tailgating this weekend and also other games. Please take a look at it for all details including location and a map. We will have free food this weekend 3-4 hours before kickoff at 7pm. It is first come first serve, so come early and hang out and meet some new faces as we get excited for the first home game of the season! Please come and stop by even if it is for just a minute!!

Also for all who have signed up online or at orientation, T-Shirt and membership card pickup will be everyday. They will be available for you at the Athletic Office Building off of Southern Ave in office 119(TSF Office). The AOB is open from around 8am until 4:30pm Monday- Friday so you can go anytime between those times and pick up your things. Please ask for Jason Nease and if you may have any other questions please email us back. We are not able to meet anyone and bring their things to them as we also have classes and time constraints as well so please go by the AOB and get your things at your convenience.

And one last reminder for Saturday, You do NOT need to get your BC ID scanned. Attendance and points will be given based on your University ID being scanned as you enter the stadium. So again you DO NOT need to get your BC ID scanned for this or any other FOOTBALL games. And points for tomorrow's Volleyball game have been postponed also. We do still want a good showing at the volleyball tournament this weekend as well as the Soccer games!

Thanks and Go Tigers

BC President

I'm gonna try and make it over there. I already promised a friend I'd be at his tailgate at Toby, so I might stay at that for a little while and then head over.
i will be there, probably 4 hours before.
hey Blue Crew Students - stop by the HH tent right next to where you will be. ALL STUDENTS are automatically HH members. we just need you to sign up so that you can get your membership card and start getting discounts
^I'll be there also haha. I've got an application already filled out.
I'm so glad to see the changes with the blue crew. Sounds like you are really stepping it up. Good job!

It was fun hanging out with you guys in Little Rock and San Antonio. I can't wait to see more of it.
