Ohh Lord, it's hard to be hum-ble... When yer per-fect in evvvv-ry way...
I do like the confidence. Absolutely no chance of a 2nd year if he is good enough to go early, but why would anyone blame him?

The interview was conducted by a Grade A Mid-Major school hater.

I was going to ask how credible the source was.
But really, ever since we started talking about this kid, everyone has said he was one-and-done. Let's just hope that one is an amazing year for Blazer basketball.

In my opinion there is no real benefit to sure-fire one-and-doners selecting a college basketball team simply because of who they are. Many times a recruits short list is made up of the 5-6 most prestigious schools that have should interest in them, essentially ignoring the opportunities and benefits the others might provide(i.e. more playing time). The chance to play for a national championship is the reason many give, but I think its the "prestige" of playing for a North Carolina or Memphis with little thought given otherwise. But, why not be the one to bring a championship to some other college - if you believe you can do it. Besides teams with one-and-doners playing major roles rarely make it to the NCAA finals. I think most NCAA champions are made up of primarily sophomores and juniors who play a major roles. And with the NBA drafting on potential it really doesn't matter that you played your 1 year of college ball in the ACC vs CUSA. I think that over time(unless the one-and-done rule is changed) players will listen less and less to the PR spin these college basketball powers promote and chose a college that tugs at their heart - where they can play more and develop best.

What's all this "mid-major" BS?
I thought that only applied to football.

My opinion is that Cousins believes that he will stand out more at UAB than he would at NC, Duke, or any other "big name" school, thereby making him stand out more in the eyes of the NBA scouts. Right now, like it or not, CUSA is considered a one team league. If Cousins can change the focus of the one team from Memphis to UAB, then he will garner the spotlight that he needs to go one and done and be a first round pick. For Cousins, having Mike Davis at UAB is a win win situation since UAB is the closest team in CUSA to knocking Memphis off their horse. The decision for Cousins to go to UAB was easy (in my opinion).

When Mid-Major was defined by the media, CUSA was considered to be mid-major only in football. But with the exodus of UC, Louisville, Marquette, et al, basketball was also lowered to mid-major status.
