Usually on a Saturday, Kelly Hodge writes a column in the Johnson City Press about the latest goings on with ETSU.

It tends to be something like "longtime staffer retires" and the like, but it keeps the brand name in the media and though the general concensus is that we'd like Hodge to have some more teeth when commenting on ETSU, this isn't a bad thing.

I noticed there was no such column in the paper today.

Now, that could be because of a lot of things- vacations, work schedules, etc.

Or, it could be because Mike White didn't have any good press releases for him.

But the criticism here isn't on Hodge. The criticism is that yesterday, Trey Williams had a huge column on Frankie DeBusk at Tusculum following their football media day.

So, because of football, Tusculum is getting ink, whereas ETSU is not.

Let's figure this out-

Tusculum- Football. New stadium for it.

ETSU- Soccer. New stadium for it that will be finished eventually after two years of delays and we will insult your intelligence by saying how wonderful it is in its incomplete stages.

Yet another reason why Tusculum is kicking ETSU's ass.
I noticed where Campbell is posting their football media guide on their board.

First picture that popped up was soccer on their web site, then you see what most of us think of as a football player. Sadly Tusculum and Campbell have FOOTBALL while we have just foot ( soccer )ball.

We have the blues but no gold anymore as I said before.
This morning on NASCAR RaceDay from Michigan the hosts of the show put together a bit where a guy spent the day walking around in an App State uniform. Full dress, shoulder pads, helmet, the whole uni. One year later App is still getting pub off of it, right down to Kenny Wallace wearing an App jersey while talking about the segment. But hey, that 132 people that showed up for the women's soccer exhibition was much better for the school.
