Pretty good so far, if the entire fan base responds this way. Just 2000 fans with this level of support will fund the project at $1.6 million.
That's OK, I was just interested in a ball-park figure. The data is very good so far. I'll be interested to see what the response has been at the TSF this week.
Folks on this board should be proud of our participation. It is really neat to see people responding. I hope that the TSF totals from the general fan base are adding up this way.
Yep, at 56 donations, the total is $57,600, average is $1028 per donation.

The economy is affecting lots of folks. Some of our buddies are dropping their basketball seats because of a business downturn. My business has been affected to some extent, too.
I think the encouraging point is how many have pledged, regardless of what giving level they have. The show of support for football is great, and I hope the TSF totals show the same response across the board from Tiger fans in general.
Also, my approach was to divide my previously committed OCS donation into two new donation allotments - this one for the weight training project and the next one for the IPF.
If the OCS opportunity comes along in a few years...well...I will make a NEW commitment. LOL!
i know things are hard in a lot of areas right now.
but as coach west stated at last months TSF luncheon, how we react when its hard is how we seperate ourselves from others.
the commitment is more important than the amount in this exercise. do what you can do - that is all that can ever be asked.
This was announced only 6 days ago. I think the response is excellent.
I don't know the total number of posters. It does seem as if we should have more, though.
Present data; 75 pledges total $67,600., average still $900 per pledge.
I agree with oakland steve, that everybody who is a Tiger fan needs to try to pledge something, even if its $25 per year. I have also e-mailed a link to the pledge form to a group of Tiger fans who do not post here, and some of them are pledging. You can help by spreading the news to others. We all know somebody who is a big Tiger fan, but never shows up on the board.

Come on folks, surely there are some more pledges out there. If we get 1700 total pledges at this average, we will exceed the 1.5 million needed. I am hopeful that there are many fans not on this board who have sent (or are sending) a pledge.
I hope that the word is getting out to those who don't post here.
I'm not sure how many members there are. I was hoping one of the mods knew and would give us a count
At 84 pledges, the total is $73,500 with the average gift at $875.
Avg. per/$973
From my conversation with a couple of folks at Fan Day, the TSF has not received anything like what is listed here. Either there is a big lag between reporting it here and having it counted at the TSF office, or folks are not giving a true report of their pledge. I prefer to think it is just the delay in the US Mail, etc., but I don't know that for sure.
What I do know is we need a lot more pledges and contributions, or this effort could fall flat. It also appears that there is no major groundswell of contributions from folks not on this board, or the total would be much better.
I said what about the general public who did not even go to the U of M but are football fans? What about that myriad of folks who do not surf the U of M site or even the web regularly? What about FREE advertising like calling all the print and electronic media outlets in this REGION and offering to give them a story? What about paying for billboards, ads in print media, radio spots? Spend SOME money to make some money. Is there anything in the budget for that?
I was told RC is really wanting this project to succeed. I politely said I will reserve my comments on RC.
So, some of you brave souls, why don't you call the Marketing Department, the TSF, Shirley's office, and RC's office and ask exactly what they are doing to get the word out about this campaign. I doubt very many people, beyond the Tiger diehards, have a clue about it.

yours is a legitimate major concern. just like with the OCS, it looks like the administration is going to leave it up to fans to take charge and get the work done. Don't look for RC to have TSF or the athletic department to make this a priority.

At this point, I think we all have to take responsibility for spreading the word. If you e-mail the gotigersgo.com link that talks about this campaign to every Tiger fan you know, and ask them to contribute and pass this on to every Tiger fan they know, word will get spread faster.
I'm glad to see that folks continue to add to this total. Right now we have
96 pledges that total $ 95,800. Avg $998 per pledge.
This is coming pretty close to an average of $1000 per donation.
I hear that when the mt.org board moved to this location several years ago (before my time on the board), we had around 1000 members. If that is true, then we should have many more Tiger posters today. If the number is in the thousands and just 96 folks have pledged, then we still have a long way to go to get pledges from all the Memphis fans on the board.
Avg pledge - $979
For those who truly could not afford to give, I say "May God bless you."
If you can afford it but choose not to, then "you get what you pay for".
any of us who have pushed for an OCS as hard as we have need to put our money where our mouth is. it doesn't have to be near the same level that you were going to put toward an OCS, but we need to show that we're serious about improving the program.
Avg pledge - $979
according to the paper the other day, we are at 1.9 out of three that is needed. should have this wrapped up by the end of september. we need to make memphis football as great as baskeetball. our AD department would reap more benifit for football to get on the ball. We can make this a winner and a money maker.
101 pledges now total $107,000
average $1059 per pledge.
Well me to, should have selected a higher amount.
Judy of R.C.'s office told me some of the bigger donors are scaling back their donations because of the economy.
McArtor of Marketing told me today that all the money has come in, already paid. I said, "You mean it is pledged, right?" She said, no, it was her understanding it is paid.
Is it possible that someone is big time lying to us?
Maybe it's more confusion, lack of organization and ineptitude than dishonestly.
