I'd meant to post this a week or two back. I was listening to Terri Gross on "Fresh Air" on NPR, which is for my money one of the best interview shows anywhere, and heard this show. She had on Lt. Col. John Nagl, who is one of the guys who (literally) wrote the manual for counterinsurgency for the Army and Marine Corps. This was very interesting and enlightening stuff. It runs probably forty minutes or so but I highly recommend it.

This guy knows his stuff backward and forward.

I try and listen to Terri Gross whenever I get the chance. She always has great interviews. Whenever she has David Sadaris on, I almost have to pull over from laughing so hard. I missed this one, but will listen to it when I have the time, for sure.
This is the kind of guy who makes me so proud of the US Armed Forces. Motivated, intelligent, he and his troops have put their lives on the line for us all. He impressed the hell out of me. I bet his troopers would run through walls for him.

Very good stuff indeed.
