Wow. I might as well tear up my degree. It's worthless if they're letting you in.

j/k. Congratulations. Was there really any doubt?

Thanks man.

Something Business. Not sure which kind yet.

You staying on campus? I would suggest to do it at least the first year as it kind of helps with the whole college experience thing.

Definitely staying on campus.

Good call! Plus you don't have to answer to the family.

Hooray! We need more FN Blazers!!!

Here's my take on the UAB School of Business...WORLD FN CLASS!

But seriously, some things to consider (remember, this is only my FN opinion, so take it for what it's worth)

I would avoid majoring in management and marketing. These two majors are tremendously low on the pay scale, and because they are relatively easier degrees, there are a LOT of students in these programs, so you'll have a tougher time competing against your classmates for good jobs.

Economics, finance (FN RIGHT!) and accounting are where it's at. Accounting will give you the most job exposure and starting $, but it just wasn't my thing. Economics can be a great major but job possibilities are limited. If you want to mix in a little engineering, our Industrial Distribution program is one of only a handful in the nation, and if I'm not mistaken, this degree will grant you the largest starting $.

And, your junior or senior year, make sure you get an internship. Without it, your chances of finding a good job are tremendously lowered.

Just my FN take. But don't worry about all that 01-scout for now. Relax and enjoy your first two years of pre-business courses. And remember it's never a bad idea to minor in female studies! 01-rolltide

It'll probably be finance or accounting, but ID does sound interesting.
Accounting grad here :)
Congrats!!!! I would have LOVED to have stayed "on campus" back in 1972, but there wasn't one and there were no vacant rooms in Tidwell Hall to live in. You youngsters are SO LUCKY to have a real university campus today. I hope all of you will remember it as fondly as I remember living in Mallett Hall at Bama in 1960. A college campus is still one of life's great experiences. ENJOY!! ENJOY!! ENJOY!! Oh yes, and STUDY!! STUDY!! STUDY!!. Of course that part is not what you will remember most decades from now.

For an easy degree that's worthless unless you're going to grad school. I can knock it b/c that's my degree haha.

Congrats hooverblazer! Good luck on your studies and I look forward to seeing you at the Tulsa game.
