This looks pretty good, and I looked up more about the story and I definitely want to see it.

If you want to know a little more about the watchmen you can read about it here.

Go to the bookstore and buy the graphic novel. You can thank me later.

I was actually at Barnes and Noble in Hoover after I saw the trailer and they didn't have it. Hopefully I can find it somewhere else.

This movie couldn't look more BAD ASSSZZZZ
Frak Fox. They are trying to kill this movie, or at least make a mess of it:

When did they ever make a movie as good as the book?

Beowulf

03-wink

Uhhh... yeah. I'll discuss that one with you when it makes it to cable. I wasn't giving up my entertainment dollar for that one.

I just finished reading it a few days ago. Definitely worth reading and buying. Now I'm even more excited for the movie.

read it recently as well. was impressed with the complexity of the characters and the storyline.

however, every time i watch the trailer, i can't help but recognize the song by the smashing pumpkins "the end is the beginning is the end," which just happened to be on the batman & robin soundtrack, the only good thing about that movie.

Yeha that song is awesome.
And I just finished the novel.
It kicks so much A!

Beowulf

Yeah, about that...never watch Beowulf with a woman who has taken classes on british and viking lit. It makes the watching of the movie more of a find all the things they got wrong in the movie.

Beowulf

I would submit "The Man Who Would Be King", starring Sean Connery and Michael Caine, directed by John Huston. From a Kipling short story, it's one of the best adaptations to the screen I've ever seen, and a damn fine film on its own merits. If you have not seen it, rent it. Good stuff.

Lonesome Dove (actually a TV miniseries)
The Godfather
Casino (but very close)
Goodfellas (again, very close)
Donnie Brasco
The Onion Field

But, your point is well taken.

In my opinion, the biggest bomb of all times: Bonfire of the Vanities (seriously great book)

i think the song fits this movie a lot better than it did with Batman & Robin

The Rings trilogy was good until the last half hour of "Return of the King". Nine hours is a long time to watch a movie and have a "What the hell?" ending.

How about 300? I've heard that Fight Club, the movie, is better than the book.

just because you got killed by one of those hobbits before those battles even happened, and they didn't invite you on the ship, you don't have to be bitter about it.

So, I guess you enjoyed all that male hobbit-love* instead of how the book actually ended?

*Not that there's anything wrong with that.
jealous dragons...

actually no i didn't like the way it ended either.

There were two things about the Rings films that bothered me. One was writing out Tom Bombadil, and the other was changing the ending from the Scouring of the Shire to that half hour waste of film stock.

If it bothered me, it absolutely incensed my wife, especially Tom Bombadil.

Yeah, cutting out Tom Bombadil irritated Mrs. Smaug, too.
