Would you guys like to add a “General Discussions
Definitely yes, general discussions would be fine, but if nothing else you could call it Birmingham politics.
I say take the Blazer Babe of the Day forum down and add the general discussions. :)
BTR Wrote:I say take the Blazer Babe of the Day forum down and add the general discussions. :)
Not really a fan of the Blazer Babe of the Day forum either
There is plenty of room to add an additional forum without replacing the BBOTD.

Remember the vote is to ADD a forum NOT replace an existing forum...... :D
Attalla, maybe you can learn something additional from the comments made.

I must add to the groundswell of support for replacing BlazerBabe of the Day with General Discussions.
Well the vote is to add an additional forum not replace one. BBOTD is going no where.

And you guys jump on Sax for derailing a topic..... 05-nono 03-lol
Well if you want to be truly PC, maybe you should create ANOTHER forum for the female posters... maybe a Blazer Hunk of the Day. 03-lol
Don't get Sarrabelle and Sax started..... 03-lol

oops, there I go..... 03-banghead

Sorry....

You could always modify the name to Blazer Babe/Boy of the Day.
Back to the point, I support a general discussions forum to find that special niche for Teri Schiavo, Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson, Robert Blake, OJ, Tanya Harding, Lorena Bobbitt, Amy Fisher, am I missing anyone?

Well, I could have started a new thread with a poll about the removal of BBOTD but I did not want sax to have a heart attack so early in his life :) I just thought that since you were already talking about modifying the forum... I would make a suggestion in the same thread that was already going. I will say this though, I would rather you keep the BBOTD than have people posting that stuff over in the main forum like what went on over at the "other" board.

Back on topic... I really would like to have a general discussion, politics, Spanish, religion, etc... forum... I have to have some reason to come to Blazertalk during the off season!!!!

WTF

Hell no. I needs my Blazer Babes. 01-rolltide 01-rolltide 01-rolltide 01-rolltide 01-rolltide 01-rolltide 01-rolltide 01-rolltide

Attalla, remove it and it's 05-mafia 05-mafia 05-mafia 05-mafia 05-mafia 03-lol 03-lol 03-lol 03-lol 03-lol 03-lol
Remove BBOTD and there's gonna be trouble. :gun: :gun: 03-lol

I voted yes.
BlazerSax Wrote:Remove BBOTD and there's gonna be trouble. :gun: :gun: 03-lol

I voted yes.
If yall need to fullfil those needs that badly, I guarantee you can just type "XXX" into Google and find page after page of the type of thing some of you may be looking for. Heck, for that matter you can find that type of stuff just in a MAXIM magazine or something. It seems apparent that BBOTD is going to stay (especially since those high up in control of the board seem to enjoy it), but I'm not sure I understand the value of it.

It's all in good fun, young padawan... :D
Two things:

1. I think we need a separate poll for removing Blazer Babe of the Day.

2. I propose the name of the general forum to be "The Southside Slant"... signifying a focus on general Birmingham/UAB news and politics + opinions on all general topics from folks with ties to The Southside.
Sax, I'm confused by you again. You have so much respect for women that you would not go to a strip club because it is demeaning to women, yet you are a big fan of looking at half naked women on the internet. Is one better than the other, or is it simply one is free and the other isn't?

High-class modeling on a sunny beach in Montevideo is one thing.

Sleazy dancing in a smokey bar in south Birmingham for extra Washingtons in your panty-line is another.

High-Class my a$$.
Both are getting paid to show their bodies. I see no difference. You seem to have a double standard.

You seem to be incorrect.

Maybe it is different for them (I don't think it is), but for the guys who are gauking at them, it is all the same :) Are you saying that when you go to Blazer babe of the day, you are looking for high class modeling???

I am sorry that I ever started this...

Randall Terry!!! and two UAB soccer players aka Dumb and Dumber from A freaking Z. :chair: :chair:
Was 74% not enough to get a new forum? :)
Somedays I believe this forum is going the way of all other UAB forums.

We are asked if we want a new forum. 74% says yes, but nothing is done. A large portion of the population says they don't want Blazer Babe of the Day, but that is ignored.

We are asked to donate money for the athletic department. Many do, yet it is never given to the university.

We are asked to vote on something called the "Crappies". We are told over and over that a particular day is the deadline. Yet the voting has been open for over four months.

I know the moderators are busy with their everyday lives, but don't ask us for things if there is no timetable to complete the transactions.

Every Blazerboard in the past has died due to neglect by the moderators. This has been the best one so far. Please don't let it die also.
Amen, MB. Hence the need for somebody with the time to work on the forum daily...

...yeah, I know, AB.
Memphis Blazer Wrote:A large portion of the population says they don't want Blazer Babe of the Day, but that is ignored.
Christ-O-mighty!

When you open BlazerTalk, you are not taken directly to BBOTD. If you are then you are the one who set it up to display that. The moderator or the BlazerTalk staff is not to blame. I myself never open the BBOTD forum so I don't know what's there. It may be a waste but it should be of no concern to you.

I think MB has issues with the female body.

Is there something you want to tell us?

Personally, I dont like the BBOTD and think it's pretty tasteless, but apparently there are a select few that do use it frequently. That said, however, I think a board with news/politics discussion would be used significantly more (at least by me for sure) and if a General Discussion board isnt seen as necessary, I definitely see no need for a BBOTD board. If you want to make the site EXCLUSIVELY about UAB athletics, then so be it, but you cant say that BBOTD has anything to do with UAB athletics. Granted, this wasnt a discussion about the BBOTD board, but if you dont think a General Discussion board is justifiable, I see no way that BBOTD can or should be a legitimate board. Having said all of that, I appreciate the job AB has done with the board.
BlazerSax Wrote:Is there something you want to tell us?
Yes. I wish your father had used a condom more often.
I think I speak on behalf of AttallaBlaze when I say that he is doing as much as he can with the computer time he currently has.

As far as my abilities as a moderator on this board, I can post articles on the home page and delete some of you jokers' posts, but neither Attalla nor I can just create or delete a forum.

I would definitely like to see a new "General Topics" forum for us. The biggest benefit I think we'll see is the increased ease of finding the Blazer sports-related posts the large majority of us are here for.

As for the Crappies and the athletic dept. donation, I haven't been handling either, so I can't answer your questions on either subject. I do know that the donations are still in the PayPal account set up for BlazerTalk... the difficulty comes when Attalla has to withdraw the funds; he can only take out a certain amount in a given period, which has thrown a wrench in things.
I would also say take the BOTD board down. The one on the main CUSA board is adequate enough.

Go UAB!
What would Copperblaze do if the BBOTD was removed? :crying:

Membership has increased, not decreased.

I am working from a laptop in a freakin hotel room, working 10-12 hours a day and have not had the time to impliment a new forum when I get in in the evenings but I will when things slow down soon. If anyone doesn't like a particular forum, don't go there period.

Quote:We are asked to donate money for the athletic department. Many do, yet it is never given to the university.

OK, first of all I was ASKED to handle this.

If you want MB, I will send you your money back.

We can donate it right now, in which I will send it to someone else to do it for me and there will be NO MENTION OF IT in anything other than here or we can do it at half time of one of next season's basketball or football games when we reach $1,000 or more.

Quote:We are asked to vote on something called the "Crappies". We are told over and over that a particular day is the deadline. Yet the voting has been open for over four months.

My fault. I had no idea I would be transfered 351 miles from home working on a lap top in a hotel room when I get in at night. I will get it soon. Why is it bothering you?

Quote:I know the moderators are busy with their everyday lives, but don't ask us for things if there is no timetable to complete the transactions.

When this job pays, that will happen, until then, just enjoy the board, it's a freaking message board for goodness sake.

You will never see another poll like this from me again I can promise you that. I will just do whatever I think needs to be done. I will always accept constructive suggestions via PM but not on open forum.

Oh, and one more thing
Sax, shut the hell up before I ban you to the smack board, I have about had enough! 05-mafia

I edited the foul language so I wouldn't have to ban myself for a week. :D
Sorry, Attalla, I appreciate the work you have done, and realize the difficulty of doing a hobby right when you have a full time job. (I was up very late almost nightly with TIBH during basketball season)

I guess I needed to vent when I put that post out. Sax was and is pissing me off and at some point a person has to have had enough warnings. It was fun to goad Monski for a while until it got ugly. I see that starting to happen on this board as well. As moderator, it is your responsibilty. I have backed off on goading Sax, although it may not seem like it, go back and look at some old posts. :D

Again, sorry for the rant. Carry on.
AB just ban SaxMo to the smack board, everyone will be happy.
ATTALLABLAZE Wrote:Sax, shut the hell up before I ban you to the smack board, I have about had enough! 05-mafia
About what? 03-confused
Yeah I think a general topic board is needed.

Oh, and getting rid of da BOTD board :eek2: ....Bad idea, sometin' bad might happen to ya if dat were to come about. 05-mafia
We now have the BlazerTalk Bar & Grille for non-sports with a political forum and the BOTD moved there out of sports. It keeps the BOTD for those who want it and moves it out of the sports forums.
