Here we go again with ECU trying to bash UCF. We just pumped over $300 million into the athletic complex in the last 2 years.
You throwing out numbers like that is where a lot of the responses come from. Half that total was dorms, roads & structure, stuff every university is building you throw in as athletic facilities. The rest was for facilities you didn't have.
Well, you see, that $300 million KT denotes was all for an "Athletics Complex". Athletics dorms for Athletes. New roads going to and from Athletic buildings. Renovations of existing Athletic buildings. Brand new Athletic Buildings. An entire Athletic "Olympic Village-type" Complex on the north side of campus.
Has "every university" built all of that at one time with that goal in mind? No.
In any case, the new end zone looks great.
I thought that the north-side expansion project was also tagged as building a basketball arena/convocation center, used for athletic/non-athletic purposes, like concerts etc. And the shopping "village" was to go along with that athletic/entertainment/student-life purpose.
Sure its exiting stuff, but call a spade a spade and don't try to blur everything into athletics, just to make your school look better. Its great either way.
The reason you don't see myself and others talking smack about other school's projects/advancements etc. is that they don't try to rub everone's noses in it, and beat their chests the way UCF fans do. They also don't distort the facts and make statements like "we have better facilities than most BCS schools."
ECU just built two new dorm/suit complexes right across from the football stadium. Many athletes will live there. Does this mean I can claim we have just completed a $50 million dollar stadium expansion project?
