It is a facade. I don't think he ignored me the first time he said he did.03-lmfao

Good deal for Will. I have always liked his competitiveness and his patience when us old guys asked him how his knee was for the 2864 time. He always said, "It is coming along, fine, sir".

But Will can't throw.

2007
52-104 (50.0%) for 587 yards (5.6 ypa) with 5 TDs and 0 INTs

2006
2-4 (50.0%) for 14 yards (3.5 ypa) with 0 TDs and 0 INTs

2005
33-62 (53.2%) for 413 yards (6.7 ypa) with 3 TDs and 2 INTs

Heck, Mo Avery--A WIDE RECEIVER--had similar numbers in one season to Will Hudgen's career stats. No offense, but he doesn't have the stuff to be a Division 1-A starting QB.

I'd take Hankins or Malouf over Hudgens. Will can still play long snapper.

If Hall fails to produce at starting QB, the Tiger football team is screwed this year.

you can't possibly think we actually care that you have us on ignore can you ? (hopefully someone he doesn't have on ignore will quote this so he can read it ?)

TOGC--I sometimes think you are misunderstood and treated harshly. I am very disapointed in your behavior and lack of respect for Will and his family. In a thread like this, if you do not think the young man has the "stuff" maybe it would be better to keep that opinion to yourself. It is uncalled for and mean spirited, and from the conversations we have had I know you to be more intelligent than this.
oh darn...he gave me some neg reps.....I think I'll go cry now. 03-hissyfit
TOGC can't possibly be as big a jerk as he acts, he reminds me of the playground bully, all he needs is some love. His antics are a cry for attention, they have to be, no one could possibly be that much of an ***. We have all known people who were so miserable that they had to make those around them miserable too until one day somene gets through the facade and uncovers a warm, caring, and compassionate individual.

LOL, NAH!

I hope I'm wrong but I truly think he doesn't care who he hurts. I agree with you 100%. He has every right to feel the way he does but just keep it to himself or at least off this thread.

Honestly, much harsher things have been said by many others but go unchecked. Attacks have been made against Andre Allen, Shirley Raines, RC Johnson, Tyreke Evans, Blair Savage-Lansden, BOSSMAN, as well as several others. Generally, these comments are met with agreement not condemnation.

I do not believe that Will Hudgens has the necessary skills to be a quality Division 1-A starting QB. From what I've seen so far, he hasn't exhibited anything to change my mind--or the coaching staff's mind for that matter. Big deal. It's not disrespecting him or his family to say that a career backup QB doesn't have what it takes to lead the team. There's nothing mean spirited about that.

As far as malice is concerned, there's a lot more bile being spewed by the "brand standard" blue tinted glasses crowd who would rather ignore the obvious and blame the shortcomings of the football team on the "non-fans" (in their words) who don't donate thousands of dollars to the TSF or attend every single game, regardless of family or work-related obligations. The hypocrisy is overwhelming.
Okay--I understand a lot of what you sre saying
but--just because someone acts in a way you disagree with does not give you freedom to act ugly also. it closes all lines of communication, and you know it. The thing that bothers me about this is that you used a thread posted by a young mans family member to make a point---it was wrong TOGC and uncalled for. You have started numerous threads and everyone around here knows how you feel about the state of the program. Why on earth would you use this particular thread to drive that point home and make an overtly negative comment about a young man who loves the Tigers, represents the Univeristy well, on perhaps one of the biggest days of his young life? TOGC, you are wrong andf you should not have used this particular thread to air your low opinions of football and Wills ability to play it.

Honestly, nothing would make me happier than to be proven wrong about the football program. egrizzard and I have an agreement that we will wait until the end of the season to pass final judgement. If TW wins a division title, egrizzard is right and I am wrong. If TW doesn't, I am right and egrizzard is wrong.

I would be absolutely delighted if I were proven wrong on this.

I thank you for your kind words, sir. I also would like to see the Tiger football team achieve a conference title and a 10+ win season, regardless of who is leading the team at QB (or coach for that matter). I have never had any malice towards Will nor any of the Hudgens family. I simply stated my opinion on the depth chart, but probably shouldn't have done it on this particular thread. Had I not been mentioned by name in the first post, I probably wouldn't have responded at all.

Congratulations to Will for getting drafted by the Cincinnati Reds. Hopefully, we'll get the chance to see him in the bigs one day.
I don't know what all has been said because I have a person or two in this thread on ignore.....but I will say that Will Hudgens is an ICON for "We Fight Like Tigers". Tommy said as clearly as can be said that Will is a really good QB, they just used him wrong and forced him to do things that didn't fit what he did well. Tommy was as clear as a bell in his comments. One of th most memorable games in our recent history was that emotion filled night against Marshall where a lesser team and a lesser leader at QB would could have folded the tent and "called it a season" .... that didn't happen.

egrizzard, can you please do me a favor? You seem to be friends with togc and I'm curious about something. I'm on his ignore list so he can't see this but I wanted to find out what a "plastic fan" is ? In my neg reps that is what he called me and I really don't understand what that is ? An explanation would really be nice. He may have explained it in previous posts but I stopped reading his stuff a while back so I would have missed it. I normally don't really care about stuff like this but this really hit a nerve so I would really like a definition so I can live with my plastic fan self happier and smarter. thanks....
"Plastic fan" is a Weinbergerism...kind of like "loop the ends" or "plastic points". "Plastic points" would be like points scored or yards gained late in a lopsided contest, i.e. not in the heat of battle.

At any rate, I think Will Hudgens is our starter come fall...if he is not, then we should have a GREAT year. I dont think our success or failure is based upon whether or not we win the division title or not.

The status of our football program is directly related to the financial commitment (or lack thereof) given to it by all in a position to do so. It has been directly affected by the infusion of BC$ dollars into competing programs. On the non-BC$ level it has to do with the University and their administrative support and priorities..

Tommy cant win a race against Corvettes if all he has to drive is a Aveo. (Not when the Corvettes can afford the gas prices)

TOGC has asked and receive forgiveness from the one person he "may" have offended. He showed humility and class in his apology. He also has pulled back the volume of his critiques. Should he be kept in Siberia forever? I don't about all of you, but I know I have said and done things recently that I wish were quickly forgiven & forgotten.

One aspect of marital relations I think should be used more often is to be very careful in arguments. Sometimes, we try to haul a museum full of old arguments into a new argument which hinders any progress of the new argument or the relationship as a whole.

For me, winning an argument by any means necessary is not worth the repercussions it causes.

TigerDad,
I salute you. You and your wife and son are all pure class. Your son has such heart and loyalty and passion, that it is very exciting to watch him play. He will be successful, no matter what he does, and he will have a college degree and he will be a GREAT person.

If someone had said about my son what Greg said about yours, I am afraid I would not have been as gracious. I have learned a good lesson from you today. 01-ncaabbs

I look forward to watching Will on the football field next year whenever he steps on the field. 04-rock

I hope Greg gets to eat his words. I graduated from Vandy, Greg. Want to attack me as a "plastic" fan? I would be honored. I LOVE my alma mater, LOVE my Commodores, but my reputation as True Blue will remain intact. Memphis is my alma mater, too.

I know you are a good fan, too, Greg, and entirely entitled to your opinions, but in the future, use some discretion when someone's dad posts with pride about his son's accomplishments. BTW, do you have any children?

No where is he challanging his manhood, he's merely demonstrating that those that judge others are open to be judged themselves. Greg's been harsh on several people associated with our football program, no one should be surprised when folks respond to those remarks.

While I disagree with toGC's comments on our coach, the football program, and those offending comments he made in this thread.....he's aplogolized to the approriate party for those comments in this thread and he's has been forgiven. As far as I'm concerned those comments are a closed issue.
I brought "plastic fan" to this board. Not the unclean one.
TOGC, we've argued about all of this before and I don't want to rehash all of that petty crap (we've agreed to disagree). I just have one question.....You keep tying who our quarterback should be to wins/losses (winning a division, etc.) and you also keep saying that you would rather have Hankins. Hankins went 9-16 in two years here and won 0 division titles, so can you tell me why you would still rather have him? He never proved anything. I don't want any stats either, we've been through that, you've started a new argument about wins/losses and it really doesn't seem to make sense.

WOW?

Questioning someones 'manhood' on a f%^king message board?

That, is by far the most absurd thing ever posted on this board?

Do you want to meet him out back after school or something.

Absolutely astonishing....from a mod no less...

un ******* real.

Let me try this...

WOW?

Reading comprehension is your weak suit?

A- Didn't question his manhood

therefore...

B- Your response now becomes one of the most absurd responses I have ever read on a messageboard

C- Quote: Do you want to meet him out back after school or something.

Seriously, did you dig this out of your high school rules book?

D- Absolutely astonishing....from a someone supposedly with a brain, no less...

Madtiger...Before you jump my as$ publicly, you better know what the **** you're talking about. At least act like you have semi-intelligence after having your as$ handed to you by 2 other posters and either delete your stupid as$ post after being shown how stupid you are, or by apologizing for being so stupid. By doing neither, it appears you still didn't get how wrong and off base you are.
