It's been awhile since I've been over here but I wanted to get some baseball talk started up again.

Some random thoughts on baseball right now.....

Jay Bruce is finally up and I'm damn excited. I thought Patterson would have been jettsioned but at least Hatteberg is out of here. Volquez is the best pitcher in the game right now (other than that hiccup in relief on sunday) and Cueto is doing better so things are starting to look up for the Reds. I'm hoping that Jocketing can spin Griffey and Arroyo for some more arms. And hopefully Homer Bailey decides he wants to be a big league pitcher because he SUCKS right now.

It has been damn amazing what some players are doing. Nate Mclouth has power numbers that rival Adam Dunn and Ryan Ludwick is the force on the Cardinals. Gavin Floyd is having a big year but he has more walks than strikeouts so he should drop. Should be able to tell more by late July, hopefully.

Predictions right now:

NL central: cubs
NL east: Phillies
NL west: diamondbacks
wildcard: marlins

al central: indians
al east: red sox
al west: angels
wildcard: yankees
welcome back. we need you. Yeah, volquez is absolutely nasty. i can't wait to see bruce either. As for bailey, it's looking like i was right. I feel like i was the only one who wasn't his impressed by his stuff. As you said, he's pitching like crap right now.

The giants on the other hand, are absolutely awful. Unfortunately it's gonna be hard to get the #1 pick, cause of how bad the padres, mariners and rockies are. I want that pick though! that kid strasburg from SDSU, sounds incredible.
doesn't look like cueto's doing too well tonight
Bruce had a good night.

As to Ludwig, he barely has enough ABs to qualify for the batting title, but he leads the Cardinals in most categories.
Cueto hasn't been that great since his first few starts. His stuff is still electric though. He pumps it up there at 94-96 consistently and his slider is pretty good . He still strikes alot of hitters out but he leaves his fastball over the plate too much.

Another thing I want to talk about, Josh Hamilton. dude is the best player in the game right now. Absolutely amazing what he put his body through and without much minor league time he is a superstar. I haven't seen him much because he plays in the american league but his numbers are mind boggling.

yup, they're mind bottling. he's an incredibly talented player.

i got to see kershaw pitch against the mets yesterday, and i wasn't as impressed as i expected to be. He has a great fastball and an amazing curveball, but one thing that was missing was a third pitch. Forget a bad one, he doesn't even have it. I'm not sure why the scouts failed to mention this; it's kinda important. I don't know too many great starters who literally don't have a 3rd pitch.
