Signing period ends this Wed the 21st. Wonder if we will hear something these next few days. If not I guess we will have one open for the early signing this fall?
If they can fill it with someone they need then I hope we use it. I don’t want them to use it just because they have it, I would rather they save it. Right now it is kind of like a game of dominos. ETSU is probably waiting to hear from a couple of kids who are waiting to hear from a bigger program who is waiting to hear from another kid and so on. That’s really the only way you can sign someone decent this late, they were hoping for an offer from a bigger school (that schools Plan B) and it didn’t come though so they go with us, their Plan B.
I'm hearing it may be used for a transfer
What kind of transfer ?

Big Man ?
Let's hope so.
Any more rumors especially any names being mentioned?
I take it we did not sign anyone else?
We will play the waiting game from what I am hearing. Look for a transfer or someone to fall thru the cracks for any reason.
I bet you end up with a transfer or a late juco sign. Sometimes it is good to hold a scholarship for a JUCO player that is trying to make their grades. Often a high major will have to go with another option (since they can't afford to wait on a player) and a mid major or lower will have a gift of a player drop right in their lap. It is somewhat of a dangerous game to play, but if you already have a good class and don't have any good safe options it might be a good play. Ya'll will be super-scary next year if you are somehow able to land a legit JUCO big man late. A transfer would be a good move as well. The worst thing your coaches could do is waste the scholarship on a safe player with little upside. You have enough talent right now to compete for the league title...at worst just hang onto the scholarship and save it for a mid-year transfer from a high major...there are always a few of those that end up happening.
We were looking at this kid at one point. Looks like he's headed to FGCU:

Florida Gulf Coast signs big man
# 6-9 center Christian Wolf of Kohler, Wis., has signed with Florida Gulf Coast. He averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds as a senior. Christian's uncle, Joe Wolf, recently accepted a job as a Milwaukee Bucks assistant. Both Joe and Christian's father, Jeff Wolf, played at North Carolina.

Wolf joins fellow signees Reggie Chambers, a 5-9 guard from Miami-Monsignor Pace; Gulf Coast CC guard Ben Vega (5-10); Derrick O'Neil, a 6-5 forward from Florida CC; and George Erkvania, a 6-10 center/forward from Pensacola CC. Signing early were Eddie Murray, a 6-8 forward from North Fort Myers-Bishop Verot; and Lanta-Santaluces standouts Anthony Banks (a 6-6 forward) and Addison Smith (6-2 guard).

Class 2008 Basketball Signing Dates: (Early Period) Nov. 14-21, 2007; (Regular Period) Apr. 16-May 21, 2008
Sounds like there are a lot of big signing classes in the ASun this year. We had a large class, Campbell, and FGCU has 7 listed right there.
didn't we end up with Jocolby Davis in a manner like this last season?
Yeh, and I believe we got Ben Rhoda after the period because he had failed a physical with Air Force
