I heard this on local dfw news.There where plans to build a new Pub. They wont build a new Pub next to smu. The smu students/drunk punks will not be able to get drunk. The smu students are angry.

Who wants a drivers license. The price of gas is just criminal. The people should think about pump & go.

Here's where I think a pub near campus is a good thing. Kids can walk there and walk home, rather than trying to drive home after a night of drinking across town.

Here's where I think a pub on campus is a good thing. Kids can walk there and walk home, rather than trying to drive home after a night of drinking across town.

Anyway, that's why Rice's alcohol policy is such a good idea.

TU is pretty laid back with alcohol, although they stick it to the fraternities. On game days, I pull up, open a beer, and head toward the stadium.
I was worried if they would care during basketball season. I was walking toward the Reynolds Center when I saw a police officer; I tried to conceal my drink, but I'm sure he saw me. He just turned around and walked away, like he was inviting me to keep going.
All that said, I've seen both sides. Most people are very responsible. But, we've had some bad accidents, too. They were supposed to get a bus for TU students from the bar areas around town, but I'm not sure that ever materialized.
