With the dining hall and new dorms?

Anything new happening?

They need to put a webcam on that project now. I enjoyed watching the rec center construction and hope to watch the new construction that's going on.

Did they ever finish the offices in the front of the new parking deck?

Construction on the dining hall and dorm has been coming along now... not sure exactly what stage it's in, but I'll be driving by there later today so I'll check it out.

As far as the new Student Services building that is attached to the new parking deck... the exterior of the building has been done for some time. There's pretty much just minor interior work left to do at this point. I believe, however, it will be open by this fall.

They should add several webcams across campus... particularly one where new construction is going on.

Yes, construction is going nicely.

Sax, wasn't that actually a UAB parking lot that folks used when it wasn't full to park and eat at Al's?

I thought I remembered a UAB Lot sign at the drive into it.

Yeah, it was. Everyone just refers to it as the "Al's Parking Lot" due to its vicinity to Al's.

Other similar examples:

1) Chemistry Building parking lot
2) Humanities parking lot
3) HUC parking lot

That has to suck for Al's.

Yeah, I'm actually wondering whether UAB paid Al's a generous sum of money in exchange for removing "their" parking lot, or, since it belonged to UAB in the first place, did they just give Al's the finger?

In any case, the closest lot is across the street from Formaggio's (next door to Al's...not a long walk).

It's far more likely Al got the "finger" than cash.

Just hope Al doesn't give customers the finger (literally)....

That's what I'm saying. I don't want Al's to get a bad taste in his mouth about UAB over this. :(

Actually the closest parking lot to al's is their actual parking lot that is up the hill and behind their building that no one knows about. I've used a grand total of 1 time in the 3 years I've been here.
