Well here's the baseball RPI:

Not a real good season for the ASun compared to the last few.
I keep hearing over and over that the ASUn is having their worst year ever in sport A, and that it will only get better. Well, here is another sport that is in the crapper.

Are you saying we're not having the worst year ever?
It probably is the worst year ever and I'm saying its NOT going to get that much better.
Gotcha... FGCU is winning the conference. 4 out of the top 5 are in reclassifying. Stetson's drop hasn't helped at all.
FGCU winning the conference is a good thing... it means the conference did its job and brought in some quality baseball teams to the league. Let's face it, our conference RPI lives and dies with Stetson. I have no idea if they've ever been this low in the A-Sun (last place). AND we're still 18th in overall conference RPI with this "worst season ever". So I'd say we're not doing too bad.

Florida Gulf Coast is #68 (and rising) on the official RPI list. That's fantastic. If Stetson can rebound next year, and Gulf Coast keeps this up... then look out.
Well, you guys may have dropped in RPI, but UCF ended up with only a 4-4 record against A-Sun competition this season (2-0 vs. Stetson, 1-1 vs. JU, 1-1 vs. FGCU, and 0-2 vs. UNF). You guys look pretty competitive to me! Hang in there. Your league will make a comeback.
Don't worry UCFGoldenKnights#1..... Most of us have not lost any faith. It's just a few ETSU fans trying to put a negative spin on baseball. They finally have some fuel for the fire (just a little), and they're using it.

Good luck to UCF in reaching the post season.

Thanks, MercerFan, and same to Mercer as well. Consistency has been a problem since we've had our top cleanup hitter from a year ago and our #1 pitcher both out with injuries at different times. I think our chances of gaining an at-large bid into the NCAAs are pretty shaky right now. If we pick up key wins in the coming weeks against USF, Tulane, UAB, and Clemson, our resume will look better. We picked up a win against Rice on Friday and looked good in a loss against the Owls again on Saturday, so hopefully we're getting hot again at the right time.

Looking at the A-Sun standings, I see that four of the top five teams are ineligible for the conference tournament. That's tough, especially considering the season Florida Gulf Coast is having. Any guess as to who will represent the A-Sun in the NCAAs?

You're right UCF, if you win a few of those games you'll be on the at-large bubble. I'll be pulling for you.

As for our tourney it's tough to say, it's really anyones game. I can't see Lipscomb winning it, even though they are tops in the conference for eligible teams. I would guess either Mercer or Jacksonville. If Stetson snuck in to the tourney (which they might do! damn it!) ... I would not be suprised AT ALL to see them make a miracle run. But I would bet on JU, followed by Mercer.

PS -- what a rough draw for a #1 seed... Stetson as the #6! (AT HOME!). That would suck. Because lets face it, they suck, but they still beat LSU. And they would be throwing their best pitching.
