You know -- the kind of song that makes you want to put your foot down and keep driving.
For my money -- Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' With Disaster.
That Much Further West- Lucero. I wish these boys here woulda introduced me to Lucero prior to the trip to Utah. Woulda been just perfect. I don't have a particular song (I even think this topic was discussed here before), but I like a nice mix of Mountain Goats, CCR, Ryan Adams, Jackson Browne, Bobby Dylan, Sufjan Stevens, Joanna Newom, Joni Mitchell, Arcade Fire, Beatles, Neko Case, Led Zepplin, and Josh Ritter. A nice mix of the troubadour wandering spirit.
I've been waiting on this thread trying to come up with something and insperado finally struck me as I was driving home last night.
Sufjan Stevens - Chicago
Of course, driving an expressway with Chicago in my rear view mirror may have played a part. Although, I'd prefer to be driving toward it, but whatever. It still works.

That's awesome you say that. I make my way thru Chicago at least once a year en route to northern Wisconsin, and always make sure to have that disc with me. Even thru the Michigan disc on when I was driving thru the UP. He's great traveling music.
