Good get. I will be interested to see how he fits in the UM. Rose was good b/c he could take over the game scoring or produce open baskets for CDR on his drives. Evans seems like more of a me first type player....from what I have seen. Granted it was an all star game, but I don't think he realized he had teammates on the court with him at the MCD AA game.

I didn't even know Mike Davis was recruiting Tyreke Evans. But news that *WE* get Tyreke is certainly welcome here on Blazertalk. Why isn't the press release on uabsports.com yet? This is a major signing for UAB.

Just put him on Niles' diet.

For him to be effective, we will need him to be able to play more than 90 seconds in a row--so the Niles diet is out.

Because it somehow shows that Memphis has a superior athletic program if their fans can post here enough to make actual Blazer fans throw their hands up in disgust and quit reading and posting here. This is a very powerful act of personal validation and helps soothe the searing emptiness of their real lives.

And it's a shame the damned ignore feature does so little to wipe away their presence.

I come to this board to read about Blazer news. It sounds to me like we are to the point where we going to lose good Blazer fans on this board because you can't keep idiots such as Foosball and Drew off the board posting their passive aggressive smack.

At this point in time, we need to be supportive of each other. Memphis has got a good thing going, true, but it would be a lot better for Memphis if 4 teams in CUSA had it going. There is no inherit reason that Tulsa and Houston (except for the fact Penders is there) and maybe even UTEP couldn't be very good teams, spending some time in the top 25 with UAB and Memphis in 2009. Memphis posters need to understand that it doesn't happen overnight and that the rest of the teams at the top are trying to get CUSA back to the point it was when we had the mass exodus.

Tearing down our conference mates doesn't help. I would love to see the day when it would be a wide open race at the top and a loss in CUSA by one of the top teams against another top team was seen as something likely, not out of the ordinary. Memphis' whole modus operandii (calling G-N) lately is too schedule 2 teams inside conference season that are top teams outside CUSA in order to of validate that we (UM) are as good as advertised. I would be so much better if the conference alone could do that.

I think it can, but it is going to take two more years. Memphis fans, how long did it take Calipari to win a few games in the NCAAs? With UABs commitments in 2009, their dominos are starting to fall, and we should encourage them to get better, not post smack on their main boards about our recruiting successes.
