Sooo, he's committing to Coach Cal and not Memphis? I, for one, can't believe they would accept a kid like that.

Sarcasm. People on this board have been criticizing commitments to UAB because they say they want to play for Davis and not the university.
What's the deal? How do you know this?
I am thinking that he is waiting to hear CDR announce for the draft before making a final decision. What is interesting is that this could become a 2 player deal with Devin Ebanks. If so, that would be good news for Memphis as Evans is #7 on Scout's list and Ebanks is #17. However, I don't see why Ebanks would come with Angel Garcia (at #40) and Matt Simpkins (#74) both forwards and already committed (not to mention Dozier and Taggert coming back).
With UAB's next two classes coming in, CUSA could potentially have 2 top 10 if not 2 top 5 teams in 2009. Wow!
EDIT:
And what is the story on Sharpe, Roderick and Ellis? Last I heard was that Sharpe and Roderick could both be playing next year, but did not hear anything on Ellis.
EDIT #2:
Nevermind, just noticed that there was a thread on R and E 1/2 way down the first page. chairshot myself

Why would that be deleted. Evans playing style fits in with Calipari's coaching style. There was absolutely no reason to delete my post or move it. Not only do we have a Grammar Nazi, but do we have a MOD Nazi as well?
Attalla performed a drive-by on your back-seat post.

What CDR does should not effect this committment. The NBA draft is not until June 26. Even if CDR tries out, he will probably not get an agent and that means he could come back and play another year for Memphis if he does not see himself going high in the first round. There is still a good chance CDR comes back for his senior year. Memphis could again be an Elite 8 or Sweet 16 team in 2009.
Then you put your right foot in...
Early withdrawal has never been a reliable method....

and is another one of those stereotypical lies, such as

If ebanks comes to Memphis he will probably play the 3 with CDR leaving. Besides positioning for weakside rebounding and working the middle of a zone the 3 and 4 aren't that different in the Memphis system. Both positions need to be able to handle the ball on the perimeter and drive off the dribble. If we get ebanks this is what I think our lineup could look like -
1 - Anderson, Kemp
2 - Evans
3 - Ebanks, Mack ( toss up for starter here )
4 - Dozier, Garcia
5 - Taggart, Simpkins, Niles ( If the weight watchers works out )
Kemp can backup the 1 or 2, Mack can backup the 2 or 3. Garcia could see some time at the three in a big lineup depending on how a big lineup matches up defensively with the other team.
