What are the significance of the 'others'? Some are local guys or folks who played against Rice but it seems kind of arbitrary.
Thanks. Yes, the "others" list is pretty arbitrary but it is mostly Rice related. Buchholz, Mandel and Snyder have family ties to Rice, Angelini, Douglass, Jones and LaRoche were going to play for Rice but didn't, Frandsen and Murphy are friends of other Rice fans, Garcia and Owings played against Rice and Pettitte played for Coach Graham at San Jac. As to the rest of the "others" list, Ahrens and Loney are local and Ohlendorf, Venable and Young went to Princeton like my brother-in-law. Alan Shelby

In the Statesman transactions list yesterday I saw that OF Adam Hale agreed to terms with the Shreveport Sports of the AA

Anyone else have a flash of Tim Robins in their head when they think of Neimann on the hill in a Durham Bulls uniform? They're both north of 6'6"....
