She was happily cheering the Tigers at a pep rally, and had the nerve to say what a positive Tigers basketball is for the University. Shirley is wearing blinders when it comes to the OCS stadium possibilities. She just doesn't get it, nor does she want to.
In regards to the OCS, I think someone has scared her.
TTT - I was thinking the same thing the other day when I read that she went into the locker room to congratulate them - TWO FACED!!!!! Imagine how much more attention we could get if we build up the football program. I don't get it!!!!!
Shriley can clearly see the all of the positive national media a spanking new $100,000,000 University Center can bring the university! You just can't buy that kind of exposure. She is indeed a visionary.

Our esteemed President openly acknowledges how the basketball team success is a positive for the University. No one argues this.

No one is bringing up an on campus basketball arena since the TIGERS play in a state of the art DOWNTOWN arena. The current football stadium is in a serious state of disrepair, has the federal ADA ruling hanging over it, and is at least 3 years behind on improvements made back in 2005.
It did not help that she made damn sure her minions on the BOV athletic sub committee simply disregarded the Heery Report in such a blatant disrespectful manner. That entire fiasco smacked of a decision made weeks earlier
regardless of what the report would say.
