He was spelling it phonetically. We're not all that familiar with the term down here, but I believe that's how they pronounced it in East TN when they filmed Deliverance.

Just pointing out when you correct someone's spelling atleast use proper grammar yourself. Shouldn't your post read "Ignorance is not an excuse"? Sorry if my grammar is bad (little tipsy here), plus I never realized you needed to be able to place in a spelling bee to post on an internet message board.
