I was thinking of hitting the Rendezvous before the AZ game, but for some reason I seem to remember that they close the week in between Xmas and New Year's. So I have tried calling them (no answer) and their web site has no mention of this. Anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance!
they are closed from the 31st through the 7th. you should be fine tomorrow.
Thanks! I just got them to answer their phone, they are indeed open tomorrow.
Anyone else going there before the game?

We're going to try and get in around 7:00 tomorrow night, but realize we may have to go somewhere else.

Ask for the waiter Tim; he's usually on the left side by the bathrooms. Tell him Chip sent you. And if you do get him tip him well; thanks-Chip.

damned this wet mop string crap they call bbq down here. They like "white sauce" which is nothing more than glorified mayo. I have turned on about a dozen folks down here to Rendezvous seasoning. I get a case each trip back and it's gone soon after.
Eltigre - Three years ago, a buddy and I were on our way to the UAB game after playing golf at Huntsville. After seeing several signs on the interstate about a barbeque place, we stopped. It was split evenly with Alabama and Auburn pictures and decorations. They had that white stuff there and we had to ask what it was.
We had Memphis shirts and caps on and the cashier asked us if we were for Michigan!! He had no clue about the game in less than an hour with UAB. Then he asked if we were coaches!!!! We've laughed about that a few times since.

Having lived 5 years in Huntsville way back when, I agree on their BBQ. It's not much. Gibson's is as close to West Tennessee BBQ as you can get there, and I never liked their's very much.
