fresh on the heels of trading for milledge, the nationals gave a player to be named later to the Rays in return for elijah dukes. I expect to either see a brawl breakout, or a rap duo be formed. hopefully not the former.
Bowden loves his 5 tool outfielders.
can't blame him. he's just picking up as many high ceiling players that he can.
He did that with the Reds and it absolutely KILLED out farm system. Jimbo is one of the worst GM's out there.
yeah, but he didn't give the mets any prospects.
No i'm saying that all he did was build our system with the five tool guys. the guys that were great athletes but would have to "develop" as hitters.
BTW, the Reds look to be the leading team for Erik Bedard. Apparently it might be Homer, votto and one other player going ot Baltimore.

oh, i misunderstood.
damn, what's with these teams offering weak players for ace pitchers. if i was baltimore the only way i'd accept that deal is if that other player is really good.
Look at the santana trade. if they send him to boston for lester, lowrie and crisp they'd be stupid. also, if they gave him to boston for ellsbury, lowrie and masterson, they'd be dumb.
Hell, at least when the marlins gave up cabrera and willis, they got maybin, miller and 4 other minor leaguers.
The deal for Bedard would already be done but Krivsky refuses to included Jay Bruce in the deal. The deal for Bedard might turn out to be Bailey, Votto and Josh Hamilton. I think that would be a pretty damn good deal for the Orioles. I'm hoping that it's Cueto, Hamilton and some mid level minor leaguer but that probaly won't happen unless the O's are desperate.
yeah, i could understand the O's wanting bruce. i mean, we're talking about an ace pitcher. There aren't many of those. He averaged way over 1 K/inning.
Yeah, bailey, votto and hamilton seems like a pretty good deal. Bailey's progress would be the big 'if.' Can he become what scouts think?
